Shoobies — Restaurant in Port Saint Joe

So so disappointed!!!! We had dessert at this place last month and LOVED it! Only place within 40mins of where we live that offers a vegan option! The mango water ice (I think that’s what they call it) was delicious and nice size scoop for $3. Drive back tonight cause I’ve been craving it, and I’ll never go back! The portion was about a 1/2 scoop and the taste was nothing like mango. We immediately went back up after I took one bite, already very upset with the portion after paying $3 each plus tip, and the girl said she had to cal her manager, never offered a different flavor or add more to the very short portion. While I’m the phone with her manager I simply asked for the $6 back and the manager refused. I did not eat the product, there’s a camera facing the tables, proving we did not eat the product, handed the product back and the manager refused and offered nothing to resolve the problem. After telling the employee several times, I’d please just like my money back so we could move on, the manager then told her to offer another flavor, by then I was no longer wanting to stay at this establishment..... the manager still insisted on no resolution, so we left the product on the counter and left with NO FOOD AND THEY KEPT OUR MONEY! I have worked restaurant and retail management my whole life and never treated a customer this way, nor have I ever paid for product that was, in the end,...

I would give it 3.5 stars because half my party liked it and the other half thought it was ok. Service was friendly (I would come back because of it), since it is downtown, the parking is in the street and prices are ok. I would recommend get one of the sauces or gelato that they sell to have a better experience taste wise—with that said I only got the vanilla soft serve base so I cannot speak to the chocolate soft serve flavor maybe that one is better. It is conveniently located and fast service. The gelato with ice cream was good though, if you’ve had Jeremiah’s (not my favorite place if that helps show my taste preference) it is pretty similar! They do have a variety so it can be useful if there are different preferences...

Shoobies was a fun stop for my family. You just walk up to the window and order and they have several picnic tables for you to sit and enjoy the ice cream. They offer vanilla, chocolate or swirl soft serve in a cone or cup, a massive selection of different sundaes, and water ice which reminded me of Italian ice. We went late in the evening so they were out of a few things and we weren’t able to order what we wanted, but what we did order was still great.
