The Aurelio's shield shamefully hangs over this locations door. I am a huge fan of Chicago pizza, and love Aurelio's. Steer clear of the Portage Aurelio's. This location carries the attitude that they're the only game in town, and pricey. We've paid their price time and time again and expect a better product than the garbage national chain restaurants. Multiple incidents with this location with laid-off visits for long periods - coming back later hoping for change with few alternatives. We've experience patronizing customer service on the phone, poor product packaging on sandwiches & appetizers placed in a thin paper tray, soggy crust on pizza and calzones / calabrese. On one instance, an Italian beef / sausage combo was ordered. The kitchen is in plain view from the counter. I watched the cook retrieve a raw sausage from the freezer and place it directly in the microwave...cancelled order and walked out.
Apparently, instructions specific to carry-out orders - repeated twice by the person taking the order - are ignored. The FOLLOWING DAY after a carry-out order was botched by this location, we were driving past the Portage Aurelio's, so we stopped in to inform the manager of their shortcomings. When reparations are requested, Portage Aurelio's protocol requires the product be brought back. I "CARRIED-OUT"...remember? We have busy lives, and the family was hungry. Yet, we are expected to get back in the car after unwrapping the food, make a second trip to the Portage Aurelio's, wait for new product, and head back home. Instead we settled for the sub-par product. Partial credit was offered on future orders. Are you kidding? How about my fuel and time? The love affair is over...there will be no future orders.

Now understand today's date is August 24th 2023. I don't know what the temperature index was at 5:15 when I walked in but I can tell you I was soaking wet beat red in the face I'm in my mid-60s and I needed a glass of water. I was told they didn't have water to go. I said I didn't need a water to go I just wanted one to drink while I was waiting for the pizza.
