Second visit to Marks. First visit wasn’t a very good experience, but Mark adjusted the bill to accommodate, which was appreciated but not necessary. I’m leaving this review so that hopefully the information helps to make this a better place to eat.
Seated quickly, and drinks delivered quick. Asked for a couple minutes to decide on menu. However, waitress got caught up ringing the register and having a conversation with Mark while we waited for about 10-15. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict with American fries and wife had a waffle. My meal came with a pretty big slab of ham. The unfortunate part was that this was on some sort of whole grain English muffin, which was awful. The hollandaise sauce was very bland. American fries were good. Overall, this wasn’t as good as I had hoped for. Needed flavor and perhaps a bit more sauce. My wife said her waffle was very bland. Kind of hard to screw up a waffle, but it seems that was the case on this visit.
All in all, it’s edible, but for the prices on these items, there are plenty of other options. I don’t mind paying for quality, but this wasn’t it. I hope this information helps to improve your business as I would love to see this place successful, but personally, it is very unlikely that we would return unless we heard better things about...
Read moreWe stopped in at Mark’s to grab a bite to eat while out shopping. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. We both ordered a sandwich and side. My wife ordered a cup of soup.
The soup was very good. Good flavor and a nice size serving. It was served hot and was enjoyable. The sides for the dishes were nice. Coleslaw and chips. Very simple but great as side for the sandwich. Now the disappointing part. The only choice for sandwich bread is white or wheat. The slice of bread is thin and very tiny. The size and thickness you would find at a discount bread shop. I ordered the club with no tomato and extra mayo. Sandwich arrive with tomato…no big deal. Just took it off and the mayo was provided on the side. Good think because their was a 1/4 teaspoon of mayo on the bread. The lunch meat that was used was the texture and thickness of the cheapest prepackaged lunch meat you can buy. The bacon was nice but cold and rubbery. Unfortunately, I left hungry as this was not very appetizing. My wife ordered the triple decker BLT. Same size bread and very obvious the bacon had been precooked and held cold. Again the same 1/4 teaspoon of mayo.
We are hoping that the owner steps up the quality of the product he is serving customers. We will not be returning. Paying 38.00 and leaving hungry did not make...
Read moreThe restaurant was clean, organized and well lit. My server (Kylie) was attentive and swift at addressing my needs and was cordial and professional in her demeanor. If I decide to return to the restaurant it will be, in part, because of my positive interaction with Kylie.
The young woman (Katie) that met me at the entrance was another story. Upon entering the restaurant Katie did not greet me with a smile, but rather simply handed me a menu and told me to sit wherever I wanted as she turned her back to me and walked away. Her interaction with me was "cold" and I felt as if I wasn't welcome. I contemplated leaving, but decided to stay to assess the " complete experience."
Recommendation: Offer training on customer service which includes the power of the smile and the significance of eye contact. Restructure your team so that the frontline staff (those that directly interact with your customer base) fully embrace customer service and reflect those beliefs in their interactions. If you identify staff that are not able to treat everyone with dignity and respect, then remove them from any role that necessitates direct customer...
