Afghan Cuisine — Restaurant in Portland

This place is amazing!!!! We came in the last hour in the day so while we had a meatier wait for our food than our friends who ordered at other carts, I wouldn’t doubt that the very nice lady working the booth had to make us up rice or something (thank you and I’m sorry if this the case!), and my GOSH was it worth it.

I got the Afghan Beef Chalaki, and it’s so unbelievably flavorful with perfectly tender beef!! My sister got one of their lamb dishes, and I know I’m going to have to go back to get myself one as well. Their mango lassi is wonderfully spiced, as is their chai!

It was a happy accident that I came upon Afghan Cuisine! I got the Lamb Korma to go, it came with a lot of basmati rice (like 4x as much as in the picture), cooked to perfection, and a side salad that reminded me of my childhood.
