I had been living in Portland for over a year when I decided it was time to sample some of the town's "fast food." First, the ambiance; all the furniture is plastic, making me feel like I was going to be eating in a children’s dollhouse. And the service is terrible. The chairs, in addition to being unsightly, are extremely uncomfortable; I was seated for TWO HOURS before a gentleman sweeping the floor asked me if I needed help but said that he COULDN’T EVEN TAKE MY ORDER. So I went back into the kitchen and before I could even say one word to the chef regarding the restaurant’s service he was yelling at me to get out of his kitchen and to stop throwing things into the fryer that I found on the floor. How rude! At this particular establishment the Maitr’e D station was ten feet across and plastic in keeping with the hideousness of their furniture. I asked the hostess for the wine list and she looked at me like I was growing a third head. Of course, as I had just returned from a trip to Italy, I asked for the wine list in what I’m pretty sure was Italian which she did not know a word of. Totally uncultured. When I finally placed my order I was told that I could not “have it my way:” She said that they didn’t have the ingredients to make wasabi-mayonnaise for my burger, that it didn’t make any sense to order my chicken nuggets “al dente,” and that even if unicorns did exist they would not lay eggs from which they could make my unicorn-egg-omelet. In summation: inauthentic atmosphere, slow service, unicorn-deniers. Will...
Read moreI went though this Burgers King drive-thru last ordered some food and waters. The guy at the window handed me a cup that was clearly not water. I could see the pinkness through the opaque cup. I handed it back to him and asked if I could have water that was not pink. He looked at me and simply said no. Hands me my food and shuts the window, offering no solution as to why I can’t have water that isn’t pink. He then stared at me for about thirty seconds. When I didn’t drive away he opened the window again, saying nothing. My sister then asked him why we can not have water that isn’t pink he ignored us. My sister asked him to get a manger and he ignored her. She then asked to talk to anyone who isn’t him. He turned to his coworker behind him and explained that we wanted water that wasn’t pink. She leaned out the window clearly upset by our request and said that it’s just pink water and we should take it because it doesn’t taste pink. Then she explained that the water is pink because it’s connected to the icy machine but it’s just water. My mother who ordered a water is a diabetic, she can not pink water that is clearly full of sugar if the pinkness it is from...
Read moreI just had the absolute worst experience at Burger King. The employee at the drive-thru was shockingly rude and unprofessional. From the moment I pulled up, her behavior was extremely concerning. She was rambling about how she had to make breakfast for everyone in line—even though there was only one car ahead of me, and they were already receiving their food. When I politely asked her to give me a moment to figure out my order, she suddenly started yelling at me, telling me to hurry up.
As I was calmly giving my order, she kept going off about how she didn’t have time, speaking in an erratic and aggressive tone the entire time. It honestly felt like she might have been under the influence of something—her behavior was just that alarming. I felt so uncomfortable and shocked at how unprofessional she was, and I genuinely feel sorry for anyone else who had to deal with her today. I wouldn’t be surprised if the food quality was compromised too, considering how she was acting. This was completely unacceptable, and I don’t plan on returning.
Something needs to be done about this situation before more customers have to deal with this kind...
