Zero Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Portland

I really wanted to love this place, the theme, the music, the atmosphere was amazing. The only thing we had the biggest problem with was the wait staff. I don't normally write bad reviews but I want them to survive and better themselves like any other small business. We had 0 help when we first got there, we sat in the bar area and didn't get waited on and then decided to try the dining area and waited and waited for wait staff to come. They were nice, but they just weren't ever there. We only split a meal so we didn't get to try enough to rate the food. I know it's hard to get good help today because I've been in the food industry a long time, but things like this shouldn't happen when I see them out back on their phone instead of waiting on tables. Perfect name for this spot, Zero! Used to be a different name and was much better. My friend and I walked in on a Saturday night, not overly crowded, the bar had plenty of open seating so we grabbed seats. There were two bartenders on and neither came over or asked if we wanted a drink or food, nothing!! Two instances where people came in after us, clearly locals the bartenders knew and they waited on them immediately. We waited 15 minutes at an uncrowded bar (and from a past in bartending this is a horrible experience in staff ignoring people) and left. I’ll save your curiosity. Don’t waste your time or money. This will be another place that won’t survive. From the door to the seating it was the worst service I’ve ever experienced.
