We got stuck at this hotel last minute on a Friday night in June, with no vacancies at other hotels.

My sisters arrived at the hotel first, they checked the beds for bedbugs and noticed that the mattresses were brand new. In this nasty place, that's a definite sign that there were bed bugs previously in this room.

When I got to the hotel, I genuinely felt that I was driving myself to my own murder scene. I ran inside only to be greeted by a disgusting smell -- think the gross perfume of a funeral parlor, old stale smoke, BO and cheap cleaning products all combined. The hallway was so dated it felt like I was walking through The Overlook Hotel in The Shining (not in a cool way).

I made it into our room which smelled just as disgusting as the hall, with no windows that opened to get any relief. I went to the bathroom to wash my face, it was not even close to clean. It was a "put a towel down and don't let anything touch the surface" kind of place. When I flushed the toilet, a cockroach fell out from under the toilet seat.

This place was so grimy that I had to do a bedbug check for peace of mind even though one was already done. I picked up each pillow to check the front and back and low and behold on the underneath of pillow #4, there was an adult bedbug strolling across in all his glory. We baggied him up, went to reception to get a refund and got the hell out of that dump.

They emailed us that they "conducted an inspection at their expense, and found no evidence of bedbugs". They failed to mention the bedbug we provided them when we left. The receptionist seemed simultaneously stunned that we wanted to leave, yet not at all concerned or surprised that we found a bed bug. He slowly turned from the bug to the computer without moving his head, as though we put a bomb down in front of him instead of one of the grossest bugs on the planet. He gave us a refund and didn't even attempt an apology for our horrible experience until he was called out. He then delivered a rehearsed, but nonsensical (he completely botched the company bed bug line) non-apology...

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE

An unfortunate event happened at our AIR BNB for the week and we had to spend the night at a hotel. Me and my sister and her friend found a room available the same day at this place and booked it using what little money we had left after our Airbnb. When we entered our room we were hit with the smell of moldy stagnant air and white stains (we can all guess what that is) all over our bedframes, mattresses, and chairs. We unpacked and instantly found a DRUG SCALE someone had left behind with white powder residue all over its surface sitting next to the Bible on the nightstand. (IMAGINE IF A CHILD HAD CHECKED IN WITH THEIR MOM OR DAD AND FOUND THAT AND TOUCHED IT!!!) When my sister went to use the bathroom after unpacking , she found a cockroach sitting in the floor. Naturally we were pretty upset about it all. In the morning when we checked out I told the front desk what we dealt with and presented the drug scale to them. I politely asked if there was any way we could receive a discount or some money back considering what happened, since we had to spend the last of our funds on this emergency hotel room that was filthy and full of paraphernalia. The front desk lady was extremely rude and instantly told us there was nothing she could do about it because we should have called when we noticed initially. All of this took place late at night when there was no staff to call, and even if there were, the circumstances were bad enough to warrant some kind of apologetic customer service and a discount on the disgusting room.

Terrible service, terrible rooms, terrible business.

Do not stay here, do not give them your business, and definitely do not bring a young child...

Good location. Lots of stores, fast food chains & restaurants literally within walking distance 18-20 min drive to downtown Portland & Old Orchard Beach, rooms were decent. Really liked the light fixtures, flat screen TV and the fact that the room was furnished with a microwave & mini-fridge. The bathrooms could really use an upgrade with stand up showers. The beds were super comfortable but man are those entry doors to each room super loud. it sucked hearing doors slam throughout the night. Also, don't bother looking out your room window, there is nothing to see. In a world with social media & bloggers it is important to give attention to every detail so some low maintenance flowers & bushes would really make this place worth wild. As for the breakfast, there is a fair variety to choose from (2 choices of cereal, 3 choices of bagels, english muffins, mini cinnamon rolls, bread for toasting ((yes, tons of carbs)) chilled hard boiled eggs, waffles, yogurt, bananas, apples & coffee) however ZERO meat! Some sausage and/or bacon would have been perfect with their Belgian waffles & quite honestly, would of brought my review of a 2 star to a 4 star. In my opinion, book at your own risk. You won't hate it but you won't...

This was the only hotel available and we were a little apprehensive after reading the reviews. I was expecting a damp, kitty litter smelling dated room. We were pleasantly surprised! The place has just been renovated. the reception has a nice metallic background, lemon water and maps. We asked for a newer room and had room 125. It was clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. The room had plenty of towels and toiletries. The fridge and microwave were immaculate. The room did not smell at all. The hallway smelled like fresh paint. The only downside was a man smoking outside the entrance of our building seemingly every time we went in or out. There is a hibachi restaurant right next door and it was excellent! We had dinner and drinks and walked back to our room. Perfect for our one night stay. Breakfast was hard boiled eggs, cereal, coffee, toast, fruit.

This place is quite old and run down and extremely dirty. The chairs run down and torn. The floors super dirty. Both our rooms smelled like stinky feet or spilled beer. The carpets desperately need to be changed out completely and the tiles heavy duty scrubbed! The main hall smelled like curry walking in. Def ppl living long term here. The walls were thin and early morning you can hear the slams of all the doors and people walking in the hallway. The man who checked us in was nice. One of our rooms electric key door did not work like it was dead and out of battery. Instead of switching rooms, he opened it with a metal key for us. But then we could not go in and out without a working key and he could not leave us the metal key. So we were stuck in for the night and locked out after breakfast. Pretty inconvenient.

The reception and breakfast areas are beautifully presented in a fresh contemporary style. However, after this great first impression the hallways to the rooms were a disappointment as they were drab and stale. The ochre colours and brown patterned carpet harked back to the 70s. It could be that the inn is mid way through a refurbishment and the hallways will get updated in keeping with the reception area. (it would be a massive improvement to have lighter walls and hard flooring instead of carpet) The staff were great. The breakfasts were good too. Plenty of choice. I given 4 stars simply because the door key cards frequently wouldn't work so you'd have to go to reception for new cards, and the dated, rather stale nature of the hallways and the room carpets. Having said that, I would stay again.
