My husband and I LOVE eating and drinking at Cliff's, so much so that we asked the owner, Sierra, if she would be able to accommodate our wedding reception and she agreed! It was seriously the best! We were able to have Cliff's to ourselves for a few hours and she even let me share my playlist with her to have my music playing throughout Cliff's while we were all there. She was so communicative, helpful, and excited to have us, she really made the whole process seamless and it ended up being amazing! I couldn't imagine a better venue to have for our wedding, especially because Cliff's was so near and dear to mine and my husband's hearts to begin with. We would go there for date nights and have the best margaritas and share Cliff's nachos with smoked pork. DELISH! Our wedding guests remind us all the time about how much fun they had there and how delicious everything turned out to be. Some of my friend opted for mocktails, and the bartender whipped up some fantastic drinks based off of my friends likings and really made sure they enjoyed them! My family raved about the smoked pork mac n cheese, smoked fried chicken sandwich, the nachos (again you MUST order them) and the fried shrimp salad. As for drinks, every single cocktail they make is PURE MAGIC and you can just tell it is made by someone knowledgeable of how certain liquors, flavors, and details should go together. They are incredibly fresh and do not taste like some cheap, artificially sweetened or overly sweet syrup/juice. This is by far one of my favorite spots in town. I always look forward to a Wonder show because I know I’m going to have the best food before showtime. I’ve been here at least a dozen times & every time I’ve loved the food. The fries and tots are crispy and light. They make all their own sauces in house so you’re in good hands. Love the aioli, basil vinaigrette, and lemon dressing. I’ve gotten a wide variety of dishes here: chicken salad, grilled cheese and tomato soup, fried chicken sandwich, fish fry, nachos, and the steak frites. My partner is quite the connoisseur of chicken salad but Cliffs is their favorite. If it’s sold out (which may v well happen cuz it’s all banging) then they go for the burger. All have been absolutely exceptional but the steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfect medium rare and that sherry cream sauce took it over the top. The arugula salad that comes with it was the perfect light bite. Of course if you’re looking for drinks they’ve got a rad selection. The pinky and the brain is one of my faves and their house rosé is easy to drink and not too acidic. On my last visit I asked the bartender to make me a mocktail and not only did it look like a fancy cocktail but it tasted like one too. Love the people this place attracts and the lovely atmosphere. I am in awe of this place. Every single item on their menu is effing dynamite. The prices are great. And the portions are badass, which is rare in Portland. This is to say nothing about the staff: the owners, Sierra and her husband are super, super friendly and supportive. Charlie and the rest of the bartenders are excellent. I consider them all friends at this point. I come in here all the time now and bring everyone that I can.

As a small business owner myself, I know how much it takes to maintain positive culture, excellence, and superb quality. I would never think about sacrificing my standards to make it easy on my bottom line, and these people get it. They really do.

Support this place. It’s the best god damned food in this town. I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise, and I promise you, it’ll be embarrassing for the both of us.
