I can't say enough good things about this hotel - seriously, you could not possibly ask for a better team, willing to do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable and easy.
I checked my mom in here because she needed to be close to Legacy Emmanuel to support a family member after a very traumatic accident. Living close by in another Portland neighborhood, I unfortunately couldn't host her at my own home, but knew she needed to be closer than Hillsboro, and this would give me good access to both her and the hospital.
I was worried about where I'd check her in, given the delicate circumstances, and wanting to know that she was safe, comfortable, and that the staff were supportive. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, choosing a Marriott location seemed like the best way to go, and I'm so, so glad I did.
The room I got for her has been spacious, quiet, comfortable, and has had everything she needs. It is impeccably clean, as is the overall hotel location, and any time I have been over to help her out at the room it has been miraculously quiet, and just feel very "home-y" and relaxing. The bathroom is spacious enough, and very well kept, and the room doesn't feel cramped or "clinical" - it feels very modern, updated, and has all the amenities you'd want from a Marriott - with the bonus of a nice, newer TV with plenty of channels for her to take her mind off things. She has been raving about the place since day one, shocked that I was able to find her something so modern and clean for such a low price in the area.
They have on-sight valet, where your vehicle is parked in a safe, locked garage, so no worries about car break-ins or theft - though there is also street parking right outside the entrance to the lot if that is more your style. The valet has been impeccable - always available at the drop of a hat, very convenient, and incredibly respectful.
I can't say enough good things about the front desk crew, either. We had to extend her stay due to developments at the hospital, and we were able to do this VERY easily from the app, using the "chat with desk" feature. On top of that, when we inquired about late check out through said feature, in order to give her some breathing room before moving her onto the next on her final day, they were lightning fast to respond with very, very generous options for a later departure time - I've never in my life stayed at a hotel so accommodating and understanding, and I have stayed at MANY hotels in my day.
Seriously, if you're on the fence, just book it - this hotel will do right by you. Very very clean, all the comfort you could want, and such a wonderful...
Read moreBooked online through booking.com & had issues where not all the information was listed on the website. We were not informed there were multiple Marriott hotels, and so we ended up going to the wrong one before heading to our actual hotel. Once we finally go to the right property, immediately it's clear there is absolutely no free parking anywhere nearby & in fact the only parking they have is on the street and it's paid by hour. Already frustrated, we go check in and get our room only to head upstairs and see that the room we booked (1 king bed, 1 pull out bed) was instead just a king bed with not even a couch. So we have to backtrack, go down two floors, and get a new room. We go upstairs and to the room, and all is fine for a while. Then, when we use the toilet, it immediately clogs. We have to call and ask for a plunger, and room service takes 10 minutes to bring up the wrong item. A flat iron. So then we wait ANOTHER ten minutes and the one and only housekeeper in the building finally arrives with our plunger. Deciding to take a shower, we're met with immediate disappointment as the shower door doesn't even close all the way, leaving a gap about an inch or more wide. A spot in the door also lets a bunch of water leak onto the floor, so we had to set down towels on the floor. The soap is very poor quality and dried out my skin and hair, and the conditioner was empty. Throughout the night, we also have to ask for more toilet paper and towels, both of which take an excess of 20+ minutes to arrive. When we get up the next morning, we head downstairs for breakfast and are told that the buffet will not be happening today because of "occupancy." Apparently, this 3-STAR hotel doesn't care enough to mention on their website that they only do the buffet when they feel like it. This was practically the selling point for this hotel to us so obviously we're super disappointed. The only thing they offered us as compensation was a $15 credit... To the restaurant we aren't eating at. Pick any other hotel in Portland, I'm sure your experience will be hell of a lot better...
Read moreI want to note that this review is 100% NOT reflective of the staff at this location, who were fantastic and all probably deserve to be paid more than they are. This review is 100% about the overall quality of the hotel, and not the service.
Before my stay here this year, I’ve stayed at the Courtyard Marriott several times for cons and concerts. When my partner and I were looking for a hotel for RCCC, we canceled our reservation at the nearby DoubleTree for the Courtyard. That was a mistake.
The AC in our room was terrible and struggled against the heat outside. I was pulling fibers from the towels and washcloths off of my body/face. There was no remote in our room, and when we did finally have one tracked down, half of the buttons didn’t work (Why is there a button for Netflix if it doesn’t do anything?) and the TV itself was…. Well. Only around ten channels worked, and of those ten channels less than half had an actually decent enough signal that we could watch without getting a migraine. The other channels were just static afterimages with fuzzy sound. Did I really pay $200 a night for this??????
The beds were uncomfortable, and I kept having springs just randomly hit me in the middle of the night, which when combined with the AC struggling and the pillows that felt like empty sacks with no real substance, I got absolutely no sleep at all during the con weekend, which made it harder for me to work up the energy to be social.
My partner described it as “disappoint after disappointment” and I felt terrible. I had vouched for this hotel after multiple stays pre pandemic. We had a lesser experience at RCCC because of this hotel and because I vouched for it. Maybe Marriott cares more about profits than actually investing in quality rooms for people, but I know for a fact that I am never staying here again. It’s gonna be the Hyatt or DoubleTree...
