An unassuming facade doesn't begin to do justice to one of the most important gallery spaces in Portland: the PICA. My first visit to this gallery was emotionally and intellectually challenging. The current installation used every bit of available space from wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Creating an art festival which specifically states that the event is free to Black folks or by donation. And EVERYBODY else is required to pay $80. Basing admission costs on skin color?! Are you joking? Way to take us back to the old days when racism was accepted. No one should support this company or institution. Or those who do need to call upon the board and ask for someone's job.
