This place has some of the coolest atmosphere and tastiest drinks around. Several shot+beer deals and an amazing mescal cocktail called the Lucha Libre, alone, make this place worth visiting. The walls are adorned with several absolutely creepy paintings and sculptures, hence the name, and it's a really cool, hip place to have drinks. There is even an outdoor seating area that is absolutely packed when the weather is warm and dry. Unfortunately, a friend of mine recently visited this location and was chastised for leaving a tip that did not meet the bartender's standards. They actually called them out in front of the whole bar and told them not to order cocktails if they weren't willing to tip more. That's absolutely unacceptable behavior in my opinion, and I am considering taking my business elsewhere. But, if you're not financially challenged, or a starving student, and you're willing to put up 18+% in tips, you absolutely must check it out. I would have given this establishment 5 stars if not for the horrible experience that my friend had. But it seems to be an epidemic in Portland; I have witnessed this kind of entitled behavior from countless bartenders and wait staff in the city. But, hey, when it's known as the place young people go to retire, you can't really expect much more from the Portland service industry. However, management really needs to have a word with the staff, or Creepy's is going to scare away the majority of their business; Portland hipsters who spend more on their tattoos and eating out than they spend...
Read moreAs my wife and I stepped through the doors of Creepy's on a recent date night, we were immediately greeted by an ambiance that can only be described as delightfully peculiar. The shelves behind the bar were adorned with an array of "creepy" figurines and dolls, while the walls were adorned with artwork featuring eyes that seemed to follow our every move.
Despite the unconventional decor, the atmosphere at Creepy's was undeniably inviting. The bartender, with a smile as warm as the atmosphere was quirky, greeted us enthusiastically and wasted no time in making some stellar cocktail recommendations for my wife. For me, a lover of craft beer, their selection of IPAs did not disappoint, offering a satisfying range of options to choose from.
As we made our way to the back of the bar, we discovered even more surprises awaiting us. A vintage photobooth beckoned us to capture our memories in sepia tones, while a well-loved pool table invited friendly competition among patrons.
Overall, Creepy's proved to be much more than just a hole in the wall bar; it was a destination in its own right. Whether you're intrigued by its offbeat charm or simply seeking a new spot to unwind with friends, Creepy's offers an experience that is equal parts quirky and memorable. So take a step into the unexpected, and let Creepy's enchant you with its...
Read moreWalked in to hear the speakers playing The Cult, with the movie 1978 Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park playing on the television. We were instantly sold on this place. Super fun vibes with macabre tchotchkes and other eerie decor like clowns and spooky dolls. The oil painting with shifting eyes reminded me of Harry Potter meets Sleepy Hollow. The vibe is more chill than scary though. We came for the smash burgers, and were definitely not disappointed! We had the Meaty Single Smashie and the Vegetarian Single Smashie- which was perfect because they were able to easily make it vegan. They were delicious- definitely made Portland’s top 3 smash burgers! And the vegan one could easily pass in flavors and textures as a meat burger. So num! We had a side of waffle fries that were fresh and tasty. For drinks, the La Bruja hit the spot. They have a 2nd room that has a pool table, pinball machines, video games and more seating. There is also covered seating outside. Totally will go back there! Conveniently located in...
