This café ended up being near the Aribnb room my friend and I were staying at while in Portland, so when we checked out, we just packed up our stuff and headed here for breakfast before leaving. It ended up being some of the best food I tasted on my entire trip to both Portland and Seattle. We were there around 10am, and the wait honestly wasn't terrible, despite what other people have mentioned.

Yes, I got a breakfast drink. Why not, eh? I opted for the Kubansk, which was "rum, mint, cardamom milk, house-made cold brew, and whipped cream served cold." In came in a tall, beautiful glass, and was stunning to look at, and just as delicious, let me tell you. As for my meal, I got the special, which was some sort of little folded pocket that had goat cheese and spinach in it. The food was incredible here. Super fresh, and well-seasoned. Everyone's pictures look amazing, and the food was just as good as the pictures made it look.

The place itself is on the small side, and we ate at the bar, so we were overlooking the open kitchen where a lot of meal prep and cooking was going on. It was fascinating to peer over the table and watch the cook shake a pan with one hand to loosen up the food, and clean counter space with the confident practiced air of someone who has been doing this so long that it actually...

Deadstock is one of the most unique coffee shops I've been to in Portland due to its design and focus on lifestyle clothing and sneakers. I absolutely LOVED the design of their branded shirts and hats, definitely gonna buy a few of them for these summer months.

The coffee itself was okay to me. I got a latte and I felt that the espresso was very watered down personally, it wasn't able to really come through the milk which may mean they have a very light roast espresso blend. I'll try a more espresso heavy drink in the future to see if it tastes better and update here. Alongside the latte, we got a chai which was absolutely INCREDIBLE, seriously the best chai that I've had at a coffee shop in Portland. It was sweet and spicy and wasn't watered down at all, I absolutely loved it and you should definitely get it here iced.

Deadstock is a cool, hip, and welcoming coffee shop that you should visit. I'll be back whenever I'm in Old Town and I recommend...

Horrible customer service on 09/28 due to no acknowledgment when we came in nor while we waited patiently for 5-7 minutes. Both had very low energy and not one smile at anyone coming in. When we were finally served, we made the mistake of asking for recommendations and he actually said “hmm, I don’t know”. We were like “HUH”? I then began to offer a few ideas and still received very dry responses and after asking for decaf coffee she chimes in with suggestions and I said sure. Why then when my order was ready, she called it out and I didn’t respond and then she tells me this is yours and the drink isn’t even coffee, it’s an apple cider??????????? How did I wind up with a cider after we chatted about a decaf coffee???? That’s what happens when you have zero interest in your customers, their experience or voice. Super bad experience - so disappointed and will...
