With a heavy heart I am knocking a star off what has been a solid 5 star enterprise that I have enjoyed for years. I hope the feedback will encourage a correction. Have been to Hood River and frequented Woodstock and food and service were always stellar even on the busiest night. When Overlook opened I was among the first of their customers and the New Haven style did not disappoint and service was on point. A few months back however I noticed on a couple of visits the service was rushed and impersonal. One of these times we were outside waiting for check and forgotten completely. On the next visit the pizza was devoid of cheese. We were shocked but in typical Portland style did not complain. Finally we tried to call in an order but after slowly giving the order 3 times the read back was incorrect. I had to give up. I hope this was all just bad luck and my experiences were outliers or if there is a problem things can change because I have loved Double...

Update (Oct ‘23) - wasn’t as impressed with the pizza on our last visit…flavors were there, but the crust was far below what I’ve come to expect from DM. We ordered two small pies. One - the special - was decent but not great, and the other had none of the char and chew characteristic of their New Haven style pies. The crust seemed almost pre-made. Hoping it was an off night….

…………… Pizza as good as ever, beer is solid and there’s a style for everyone, great space, and great to have this icon so close! If you’re a vegan and you want to go somewhere with a bunch of vegan options for food, maybe don’t go to a pizzeria or maybe check the menu...
