The Stacks Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Portland

I’m so glad I stumbled upon this coffee shop on a trip up to North Portland. I ordered a London Fog which was ready quickly and delicious. The atmosphere in here is lovely, my background noise while working on my laptop was mostly that of writers brainstorming and coffee brewing, with a great playlist to underscore everything. I got a lot of work done here, but can’t wait to come back again to just sit and read for a while, as many other customers were. Cute neighborhood coffee shop with an honor system lending library or a decent selection of books. The owners and staff are all wonderful. The space encourages masks but not a lot of people wearing them indoors and it is a pretty small space. I just had the nicest interaction with the cashier on shift today. Highly recommend this spot! Agree with previous reviewer about prices and watery chai, I've also experienced variable drip coffee (Roseline) in the past but it's been much better recently! We came because we always see a line out so wanted to see what the rave is all about. Coffee is not bad but the operation is really chaotic and no real line so people are just scattered on the side walk. When asked when our online order will be ready, the cashier went back to ask the barista and she rudely told him a time. Instead of coming to inform us, he texted us and left us waiting at the window...just really weird behavior and I personally felt very much that they don’t care about our business. Bummer.
