I write this at some undetermined height in the celestial arena. Above the clouds, away from the drudge and toil of mortal man. And other than camera equipment and all the varied electronics that keep me going, what do I bring with me from that mortal sphere? I bring a taste of taste of that forgotten (for the moment) lowly land, I bring a tightness of the tongue, a slight bitterness that lingers just below the consciousness of my admittedly addled mind. To be precise I carry the memory of a disappointing cup of Chai. The ironically named Good Coffee, residing in a concourse far from the beating heart of the airport. On the frontier where there are few seats and fewer choices. Good Coffee looks a bit barren, not obviously a place for a hot drink. The service was fine, but the chai was a study in bland disappointment. No depth, no quality of richness. It tasted watered down. It tasted like it came out of a box. You can tell no on there makes this two dimensional dribble on site. I should have stopped earlier, before starting the trek out to concourse B for I am old and weary and not willing to walk all the way back to the homeland of the main concourse. This was convenience store quality, boring and insipid. It warmed me, but did not succor me. I suppose this is really my fault. I should have read the reviews before making that one way trek into the hinterland. There are other choices, I mean really, this is what Portland offers to its brave and hardy travelers? Not the best look Portland.

The PDX location is horrible. It’s 110pm on a Saturday, I’ve been in the boarding area for 30 minutes and there are four workers behind the counter with the entrance blocked off and two older women came up to ask how long until they will be ready to serve. One of the workers responded rudely “I can’t tell you that, there’s coffee shops upstairs.” And someone else came up to ask and she again said “we’re in the middle of a shift change, it’s not going to be a few minutes”. I planned to visit this space as I waited for my flight to board, but I’ve changed my mind. Find new employees or your business will suffer even more then I’m sure it already has. Edited to add: It’s now 1:45 and they are still not open. Another older woman came up to ask if they were going to open soon and a male employee responded “I can’t help you miss, i don’t normally work at this store.” And walked off.

The staff was very professional and friendly and the coffee is good. My only complaint is about the food. This location is in the brand new wing of the PDX airport and for $13 I got a “Roasted Turkey Sandwich” that is literally just turkey and cheese on a smushy bun. I don’t believe the workers behind the counter were the ones who prepared the sandwich other than heating it so I don’t blame them. They were great. The food is just not what I was expecting from a supposedly reputable cafe.

It's been a while since I've popped down here As I normally get my caffeine fix from Portland Roasters or Stumptown. But since Stumptown halted use of Wood Block chocolate for they're mochas and they never have a light roast at least not at the airport location and if they do it always seems to be too hot and too strong for my taste including the americano. Now Portland Roasters light roast used to be just fine but up to press they're light roast has been too strong and bitter and same gos for the espresso beans they have been using for they're americanos. Anyway I just thought today instead if going without my caffeine fix, that I would walk over to Good Coffee.... man I'm glad I did; i got they're 16oz hot mocha with oat milk and it was great. Due to my dietary restrictions and also trying my best to avoid any artificial preservatives or additives; i asked the attendant if the chocolate they use for they're mocha is vegan and she said "yes" ..... I requested to see the ingredients and they nicely got the bag of chocolate for me and let me check it out. Which made me even more happy as I came to discover that the chocolate they use for the mochas is very simple and only has 3 or 4 ingredients no preservatives and no additives

I've had their lattes too and they're coffee all good. Stop by here if you've got time and your flying out of PDX. It's on the B gates lower level.

The pastries are pricey... one vegan cookie will put you back 6 bucks and some change that's steep for one cookie.

I didn't see any food choices for vegans other then the cookie

They told me the bakery items cone from a bakery in down town Portland "Dos Hermanos"

The ladies working here are all courteous and professional. Nice... we all had a good chat about coffee

$7 + for a 16oz hot...

Horrible experience with the manager (short latin lady). Very very rude, argues with you and does not take accountability for their mistakes. I felt completed disrespected and appalled by her behavior. They gave me the wrong order and continued to deny they did anything wrong when I cannot eat meat (very common for religion & dietary restrictions) I indeed ordered correctly and they indeed gave me the wrong sandwich. I was very polite and respectful to her and instead of being kind, she was hostile and aggressively said “what then? Do you want your money? I’ll give you the 2 dollars” while laughing when I said no I simply wanted my correct breakfast sandwich I ordered. I have never felt so disrespected and experience such horrible service from a manger. She also went to her colleagues to talk badly and I overheard her as I spoke Spanish and they were laughing at me. I will be contacting their regional or district manager and filing a complaint against her and her team. They should all be fired. Very very rude disgusting people. She should be embarrassed by her behavior; unprofessional, immature...
