Low Key — Restaurant in Portland

Sister bar to Jing Yan Tavern across the street and the new addition to Munjoy Hill. No need to explain too much since Jing Yan's drink programs super solid and that's what Low Key exactly is. There's nothing low key about the quality of the drinks here. Excellent !

Small intimate place, come early since it's first serve first come basis. Service is very quick even though there's only 1 bartender made the drink.

They have quite some apps/snacks/sandwiches to order. I ordered the Reuben panini with side cucumber salad that's very refreshing. Super delicious, generous with the portion and very good corned beef.

For drinks I ordered 2 different drinks : the pick-me-up and low key from their signature cocktails. Completely polar opposite to each other. Pick-me-up is mezcal base, citrusy and refreshing while low key base is rum with milk, blueberry purse that taste deserty. Couldn't be...

Happened to drive by and the outdoor seating caught my eye since I had my pup with me. Not much on the menu. Wanted to get the nachos but they were out - at 530 on a sunday- and apparently it takes a few hours to make the chicken. Ordered the cloud 9 but I was not. Was not good at all. Was going to order the warm spiced brownie but they took so long to check back in with me I decided to leave. When the waitress finally did come back out she already had the check like she knew I wasn't going to order anything else, but had the service been better I would have. The guide for our sunset kayak tour told us about this place, when we inquired about drinks and a little food afterward. This was our first time in Portland, and this place was simply lovely! It was already dark by that time, and the atmosphere here was wonderful-candlelight on the tables, great craft cocktails, great music playing but not too loud, and a small menu but good food.
