You’re better off eating at Pizza Hut honestly. I will say Isabella is the sweetest worker there and extremely genuine. Isabella lures in the crowd with her pleasant energy. The pizza is prettier looking than it actually tastes. I paid $25 for one pizza and almost $30 for the sausage pizza with added pepperoni. The added pepperoni was an additional $4. I got only two pieces of pepperoni on each slice. The pepperoni pizza has loads of pepperoni on it for a less expensive price and I feel I got scammed by not getting what I paid for. The crust was extremely greasy and not cheesy at all. The kale pizza had no cheese and was completely dry even for a white sauce pizza. I went back to express and share my experience with Isabella and she brought Marius over to discuss my feedback. Marius, the owner, comes up with a machismo, passive aggressive attitude and did not care about what I had to say. I wanted my money back for the poor quality because I did not get what I paid for and he wasn’t willing to make it better. I was certainly sold on the sell for Marius’s place here. Business with owners like Marius who have an attitude like his who are not willing to receive feedback for improvement will not thrive or grow. I was willing to give it another shot by coming back and trying it out again because there are good days and bad days, but Marius wouldn’t give me the time out of his day to hear me out one bit. Go ahead and try it if you’d like but you will be disappointed because other pizza joints are so much better as well as affordable with owners who are open to hearing what their community has to say to contribute to the business’s growth. Good luck with the “My pizza is perfect the way it is because I’m a pastry chef and worked in a kitchen” mentality, Marius because you’re only going to keep digging yourself a huge hole at your hardworking employees’ expense.

Pop pizza is the new spot on the block serving Detroit style pizza. Walking in you’re greeted with a compact seating area. There is pizza available by the slice as well as entire pies. We opted for the cheese, veggie, and Hawaiian (minus the meat). We wanted the triple cheese but apparently it had alcohol in it. The pizza was solid, with a great under carriage and fantastic crust. It had a good crisp as well. While the pineapple was great, the rest of the toppings were average. With our combo there was salads included which weren’t bad at all. We also had the cookie pie which was unfortunately a huge let down. Pricing was certainly on the higher end. Overall, I would certainly recommend trying this place as the pizza is solid. I think it may be better than ranch pizza (especially the crust). I would absolutely skip the cookie. It’s also unfortunate that ranch and hot honey costs extra. My feedback is for them to make an actual cookie with chocolate chips throughout instead of extremely sparse chocolate sprinkled in.

was lucky enough to get one of the promotional pizzas advertised on their instagram... and i’m glad i did! very generous offer ! i felt like i won a prize! the ordering process and website was simple and efficient. pickup was smooth and timely. got a couple views of the inside through the pickup window, the place looks great, i hope we get to enjoy the dining room soon! so about the pizza, it was hearty, plenty of cheese and toppings and sauce and the crust was a great balance of chewy and crunchy on the edges. gotta love those corner pieces! overall very tasty and very filling. definitely on my short list for quality pizza in the neighborhood. thanks pop pizza!

—————REVIEW UPDATE—————

Unfortunately almost everything I said in my previous review is no longer true. The pizzas are now extremely inconsistent. Actually, I haven’t had a great pizza the last 4 times we’ve ordered. They are greasy and either too cooked or not cooked enough. Additionally, their service/professionalism has slid WAY down. They were never a particularly “professional” place, but at least they were actually open when they say they are. Now, there have been at least 2 occasions where they say they’re open, but to order online, they are “out of stock” of everything. No Google closure. No Instagram update. No voicemail. No answer. No response to Instagram or Google messages. Etc. So there’s a lot of doubt when I decide to eat here, so we’ve chosen to go elsewhere. As far as our new spot..check out RANCH PDX. So freakin good. Very similar to Pop, but better in ways. ———-

Old review below:

Extremely consistent! Very, very good. Some of the best pizza in all of Portland (in my opinion) and seems to have quite the following. These are the same folks that spearheaded Nuvrei and Pop Bagel (both great places as well). This pizza is quite thick yet lighter than a lot of other thick crusts. Perfect amount of toppings and never undercooked (or overcooked!) Their pizzas have that “burnt cheese” crust kinda vibe that I’m obsessed over. Make sure to get the free basil, if you’re into basil! The kale pizza is great too, but personally, cheese and pepperoni...

Wow. Just wow. This is the BEST pizza I’ve ever had, so much so I needed to write this review (and also call the shop to inform them lol). I got the pepperoni pizza during their happy hour(on Sundays from 4-5). I got the side red sauce as well. As soon as I got home I smelled the sauce and it hit my back molars and I felt tingly inside. I don’t know what that means but my appetite immediately doubled. The pepperoni pizza had the most perfectly placed, beautifully round little pepperoni cups on top(no pepperoni is better than the cup!!!). The pizza crust is lined with baked cheese(the kind you’d fight your siblings for on the crust of macaroni or lasagna). It was so airy and delicious, almost like a buttered focaccia bread. I could’ve eaten the crust all by itself. The cheese tastes fresh and so delicious and they do not skimp on it, it reaches all sides of the crust just like a pizza should. P.s. the brick shape of the pizza is perfect on top of everything else. It’s been 20 years this year without having a mom in my life, so it was a very special pick me up on a day that I needed it most. Thank you so much and you now have your...
