I loved the atmosphere they created. They even went as far as to decorate the bathrooms with the same aesthetic. The mood setting was lovely, from the overhead lights to the mini tableside lamps, to the comfortable booths and chairs, the leather-bound menus, as well as the waiters kindness and amicableness. The 3 plates we ordered to share were perfect and quite delightful! Compliments to the prep cooks and chefs! I wouldn't change anything.
The Mezza Platter Sampler was a perfect appetizer, my personal favorite was the Baba Gannouj. I loved the creamyness and slight tang that it had. But they were all a great try! We had it along with the Queen's Karak (hot saffron milk tea) and it was a perfect tummy warmer along with the freshness of the platter. It was quite aromatic and earthy and creamy all at the same time. Make sure to continuously stir, as it's hot and the spices fall to the bottom, making a delightful tongue punch to end the cup with.
The "friday special" Lamb Shank Mandi was an absolutely delicious main entrée, with it's smoked lamb shank, aromatic rice, spiced and spicy dipping sauce and their vegestable stew. All the flavors mixed so perfectly together and filled us up quite nicely.
We ended our lovely night in this cozy, beautiful atmosphere with a Date Cake & Ice Cream dessert. The nuts on top were a perfect flavor and crunch alongside the creamy, vanilla carmel ice cream, and the date cake underneath was a perfect pair to the rest of the dessert. Be careful ordering one; you'll get addicted and want more. I did, but unfortunately I was too full of the rest of the yummylicious Saudi Arabian food to get another. (Don't take the stick out of the ice cream, just eat around it carefully. It keeps the ice cream on top of the cake perfectly; no...

"Tasty Mediterranean Fare and Warm Hospitality at Queen Mama's Kitchen"
My friend’s and I stopped at Queen Mama's Kitchen while driving from Newport to Seattle, and were so glad we booked ahead to secure a table. This Mediterranean spot was bustling, even during the rush hour when we arrived, but the friendly staff quickly seated us at a high chair’s .
The food was the real star of the experience. We started with the mezzanine platter sampler, which had a wonderful and just the right amount of spices . For our mains, I had the roasted chicken platter that were perfectly grilled and seasoned, while my friends raved about the richness of the lamb shank Mandi. Everything was absolutely delicious and packed with authentic Mediterranean flavours. Deserts were really delicious Royal cheesecake and rice pudding.
But what really stood out was the hospitality. The owner, who we assumed was "Queen Mama’s son" himself, came by our table multiple times to ensure we were enjoying our meal. He was so warm and welcoming, and you could tell he takes great pride in providing a memorable dining experience for his customers.
Even though it was busy, we never felt rushed. We were able to relax and savor our food and the lively atmosphere. The high chair seating was a bit unconventional, but it ended up being a fun and unique touch.
Overall, I highly recommend stopping at Queen Mama's Kitchen if you're driving through the area. Be sure to book ahead, as this place seems to be a local favorite. The tasty food and wonderful hospitality make it well...
Read moreI think we made a mistake by coming on mother's day as the menu was a single option set meal for the table.
I called and reserved a table, thankfully - they were slammed. Although babies & kids were performing their typical murder-scream the entire time, I do appreciate how they sectioned off the small dining area and put the screamers in the back room. It slightly muted the screams enough to at least eat.
We were seated quickly considering there wasn't a table when we arrived. It was impressive how fast they cleared a table.
I want to call out that the space, decor, tableware, and silverware were just outstanding and classy. Just beautiful.
We sat and were given the menu (which only really had one choice, but you could split it up a la cart.) it took 15-20 mins before we could get a server to take our order, which was ridiculous considering our answer was, "we'll take the one thing you're offering."
The food came out in a reasonable time. That was the last time we had an interaction with the server until we flagged him down for the check. Don't expect table service other than taking the order and dropping off food-no check-ins, no refills. You're on your own. The service was friendly & helpful with ordering (confirming our choice was enough food for the table.)
Our table agreed that the tea was, by far, the best part of the meal. It was almost like Chai with the spice and comfort.
We all favored different parts of the meal, but also all agreed that the falafel was just overcooked and too hard. The cheese was my favorite (tasted similar to blue or...
