Love this store! Was present for opening day, and have gone back every time I'm by Pioneer Square. Clothes tend towards basics, but they're good quality. They also offer embroidery in-house, with a little booklet of designs to flip through if you're looking to personalize your garments. I'm a petite (which makes me average height in Japan, I discovered during a vacation there), so the wide leg jeans fit me perfectly, which never happens.
Read moreAs a person with a disability, I was dismayed at how difficult it was to find an ADA entrance. A notice read that there was one at 555 SW Alder, but I spent too much time looking, only to discover that it was actually on Morrison St. This was my first time in the store, yet when I finally found the ADA entrance, I was met by a woman exiting who looked and sounded much like a police matron, saying, 'you can't come in here'! I asked why, and she looked at the other guy at the door and said, 'code three'. I have no idea what that meant, and asked what it was about. She walked out, and he said that she had probably mistaken me for someone else. He asked did I want to shop, and I said that this had been my plan, but felt very confused. After I shopped and paid for my merchandise, I asked to see the manager. I explained my experience, and he just listened, then said sorry for that. I wasn't sure he even understood what I had said. I did say that the employee should be spoken to, be sure in the future that they were certain of who they were speaking to before they made such a rash statement of exclusion. I would have felt better if he had indicated that he would speak to her, but he just said sorry about that in a very cold manner. I long for the days of good service at Meier and Frank, a warm atmosphere. My interest was in a wall diffuser, which they were out of and could not tell me when they might re-stock, but I did note that the essential oils for them were four times more than I would normally pay. I won't be shopping there again, which apparently is just fine with them. word of mouth is the best...
Read morePOOR quality but customer service is even WORSE. I bought this thermal bottle from Muji and you can see the price in the receipt. It’s not cheap if you compare to the famous Stanley thermal bottle. And it leaked. The water leaking went all in my laptop and damaged the brand new laptop for good. So today I come back to Muji and ask for return since it doesn’t work and still within 30 days. When I bought the bottle, it was the last one on the shelf and my friend asked them if they could give a discount (I was intentionally to pay full price). So the cashier gave me 15%, which is about $5 but he didn’t explain to me that since this was the last one or the display model, I wouldn’t be able to return. If I knew that, I wouldn’t take that $5 discount. They don’t let me return the faulty product but say they will replace another one. I tell them that I wouldn’t use it even they give me a new one (and they don’t have any of them to give me). So, they said they will let me buy anything from the store with the equivalent amount of money. I said “great, can I have it as Store credit”. And they insisted No and I have to spend like RIGHT NOW. I didn’t plan to shop. I only have 15 minutes to stop and return. But the way they solve this issue is terrible. I have been hesitant to shop here the last couple seasons because clothes quality is not up to the Japanese reputation. But today experience is a show...
