I am still reeling from what just happened. I have a medical condition that requires that I use the restroom pretty frequently - some days more than others - and today was a surprisingly rough one that caught me off guard. After ordering my "usual", I had an emergency and needed to use the restroom. A restroom I've probably used 50+ times over the last 6 years. After being refused, I explained my medical condition and even pleaded with the employee to make an exception and never in my life before today have I actually been refused access to a restroom after this type of a plea for access. Talk about dehumanizing. My wife and I have been going to saint simon for almost 6 years now - and have been one of their biggest evangelists. We tell everyone how amazing their coffee is and have done everything we can to support them over the years. No quality of coffee is worth being treated so inhumanely. Unable to wait for my coffee and with no restrooms nearby, I had to book it to my car, crawl into the back seat, and use an old water bottle just to avoid disaster. I've never been more thankful for tinted windows. Enjoy my $4.50 for the nothing I got for it saint Simon cause it's the last penny you'll ever...
Read moreSuper cute and trendy coffee spot in a solid location. They have a simple yet solid round up of beverage options and a small assortment of pastries. They use Coava coffee (a Portland institution) and SOUL chai. The space is small but has a decent amount of inside and outside seating options. The morning sun shines directly onto their shop, making it bright and warm. There’s a small selection of merch, coffee beans, and coffee making equipment by the front door. The staff are always super nice, cheerful, and helpful; the small space and open barista set up makes for easy and enjoyable conversation while waiting for your coffee. Helen Bernhardt’s bakery and Twisted Croissant are both located within easy walking distance from St Simon so if the pastry selection doesn’t pique your interest at the cafe, it’s a straightforward and enjoyable expedition to patronize one of the nearby bakeries after grabbing a coffee. My associate-cum-business partner wishes that I also note that the wonderbuns are “finger...
Read moreI am only writing this review because it has happened a few times and it wouldn’t be fair if it only happened once, and I write this. The last few times I have been in here, I am never greeted which a lot of the times is fine with me but the part that makes it super awkward is that the employees are always talking amongst themselves for a long time before they even take my order and I am next in line. So in other words, I am next in line and the cashier is just talking to either the person making the drinks or one time a customer. I understand that they are in the hospitality business, and talking to customers is completely fine and cool, but it’s super awkward because they have super lengthy conversations that are more personal all while you are waiting just for them to take your drink order. I have never felt so uncomfortable or at least in a...
