I had not considered āfloatingā before as a therapeutic treatment for those with Cancer or other health issues before I met Dana and actually tried a float.
I do remember the old days when the concept of āIsolation Chambersā when they first came out but this experience of floating is completely different and gave me maximum confidence.
Dana, the owner and her team gave me complete confidence to ātake the plungeā and immerse myself in the new, āfloating experienceā and it was, to say the least, enlightening.
Now, you could pay thousands of dollars to have a āZero Gravityā experience and go up in a plane for 15 minutes of feeling like youāre floating in space and then get sick afterwards so Danaās Float North immersion experience is a much easier and comfortable experience and reasonably priced!
You can get almost the same experience as going up in the āVomit Cometā as you would floating at FLOAT NORTH. Albeit, less movement and jumping around but nonetheless still get to feel like youāre weightless.
As someone with an Ostomy and Stoma on my belly I was worried about immersion and had the staff check me out before I plunged into tub.
What happened?Nothing to worry about..at the level of Salts and concentration levels allows your body to get immersed a little more than half way. So no worries for us Ostomates who have a bag or worrying about getting a leak..
Combined with the gentle Ambience music (of your choosing) and the patient and helpful staff explaining step by step whatās going to happen and how to use float tubs you donāt have to worry about anything!
So, floating not only works as relief for Cancer patients like myself but anyone else who has health or stress issues..you can have some real peace of mind and feel great afterwards.
And, true to Danaās staffās words..I slept like a baby that night and was relaxed completely the next day.
If this was anything like feeling youāre still āin the Wombā while floating in temperature controlled waters with Bath Salts and Ambient music, then this is it.
To get even more out of the experience, to really bring down your Stress level or youāre looking for more healing powers Iād do the Float and Massage experience next time and really chill out to the max!
Floating? Give it a try and book a spot now and get the same wonderful experience that I had.I bet my money on it youāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFloat Northās newest addition to their massage therapy team; Jess, is the real deal!
I received a massage from her earlier this week. It was my first ever 90 minute massage, Iāve always done 60. I have had chronic back pain for nearly four decades and have had two major surgeries. Iām currently in a months long major flare up that will require another surgery in the coming weeks.
I came into the massage with my pain so high Iād been steaming tears for three straight days despite a cocktail of prescription medications. As a frequent floater I had hopes that doing a float/massage combo would settle things just enough I could get some sleep and set myself up a little better for this last stretch of time before surgery. Massage is a true treat for me, pairing it with float is the best possible combination mutually enhancing both therapies.
Jess took time to get to know me both from a review of my history before I arrived and conversation before we began. She worked on all areas of my body to release muscle tension and stimulate the nervous system in beneficial ways. She listened to both my body and my words to customize the treatment specifically to my needs. She set me up for an extremely relaxing and healing float right off of the table and down the hall into the tank. They provided a robe so I didnāt even have to change, just a quick shower and it was time to float!
The float as the most soothing 60 minutes Iāve had in weeks. The immaculate float suite offered privacy and a perfectly tuned float experience. They have an open float pool but I chose one of the state of the art float cabins for my float vessel. Jessās body work set me up to settle in to the float quickly and gain maximum benefit. Even though my core pain is beyond the reach of these therapies right now my whole body just felt lighter and freer. The time flew by and left me even more comfortable than I was after the massage. I left with a much healthier mindset than I arrived with.
The effects lasted through the day and allowed for nearly four times as much sleep last night than Iād had in recent memory. Now, some 36 hours later, my core pain is still very much with me but my surface pain and overall body are in a much more peaceful and relaxed condition.
Iām already working on another session between now and my upcoming surgery....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT REVIEW: I was called back for another massage for free for the inconvenience last time. I gave it another chance⦠Iāll say it was appreciative for the effort to try again and the owner was nice and kind about it and what needs I wanted to be met. I was more vocal with things I wanted this time. But overall Iād say the massage was better than last time, but it was still just plain ok. To be honest Iām just not too fond of the massages here now from 2 massage therapists. Itās just not my style or for me. I guess I felt bored? Seemed like the same things kept repeating and repeating over and over circling for 90 minutes. No new techniques were used. Massages should feel good and not want to end. I have been getting massages for many years and I know how techniques are with all of them and for some reason this location just doesnāt have enough for my liking and thatās just my honest opinion. Im appreciative for the second chance to try againā¦Iām not upset or anything just an honest take on how I feel.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Float was cool. I think 60 minutes float was too long for my personal preference but it was something new Iāve never done before.
My massage was alright I guess⦠it didnāt seem to have a good flow like most massages Iāve done. I thought oh my massage was too short because I always think itās fast⦠i mentioned it and looks like LMT Kimy only gave me a 60 minute massage when I had an appointment for a 90 minute massage. I was pretty annoyed of that⦠she brought me back into the room after I changed and all to finish off the 30minutes but she did some techniques like percussion that I wasnāt too fond of. Sure I could have told her to stop but I just kept thinking it would end. She ended up slapping my back many times which hurt. Then she also rubbed my back so many times up and down with not enough oil as if she was going to burn my skin. I just wasnāt fond of the techniques to be honest and with the last 30 minutes that was given due to her mistake it was like she was doing nothing or not much to pass the time. Anyways could have said something but still that is my take on it. Yes I was very annoyed that when it was my appointment it was not overlooked to double check what I had signed up for and to make sure I got a 90 minute massage over a 60 minute because by that time the āflowā...
