I am disappointed with the service I received as well as the food. I use to eat here as a teenager and recently been taken my kids here, and I wasn't treated like a value paying customer.

I came into the restaurant like I usually do, and I wasn't greeted or welcome, instead I was badgered about something my children were being accused of doing 2 weeks ago, the young lady said my children were playing in the chili sauce which is right by the water, and she accused me of not paying attention to them, when my kids ask for water which is around the corner from the register, and I can't see them where I stand to order and pay for the food !!!

I have waited more than 15 minutes for my food, and they have never said anything while waiting for that long of a time with my kids. Until now.

She also accused my children for taking too many chop sticks, I listened, but she kept coming off rude and nasty about this situation, So, I reminded her that I come in often and spend my hard earn money like everyone else. I ask her was this a kid friendly environment she said, yes! I told her It doesn't feel that way, because she was very combative and rude, as all I was just trying to do was order some food to go.

I haven't always got the best quality of food or service here, but it's close and convenient. My last order of fried rice was mushy and the veggies tasted slimy, the shrimp use to come in a box, now they just put it in the bag.

After, this encounter I lost my appetite, and I will not be returning. I eat out with my kids a lot and this was the first time this has ever happened. I will not buy food from nowhere where I don't feel valued as a customer, I have support their business to just be talked to any kind of way, lesson learned.

She accused me of not taking accountability because I didn't respond to how she talking to me, again as if I didn't pay for my food like everyone else, the only difference is that I am black and I have kids.

This isn't a kid friendly...

I’ve been coming here and enjoying the food for sometime now; it tastes great. The staff is friendly, except for one thing. One tiny little thing I must say. The lady owner, if you wanna see her agitated or slightly bothered by your presence just ask for one of those tiny little plastic cups stacked up on the counter under the kitchen window behind the register containing the sweet, spicy, red saucy stuff that’s next to the tiny containers of peanut sauce. Don’t you dare ask for two!!!! Oh my the dirty look you’ll get! Just try it and see. I mean, charge me for goodness sake if it’s that serious. I asked her for two of those, to go with my to-go order. She acted as if she didn’t hear me, and walked away. I waited, and when she returned I politely and clearly asked again for “Two, please.” She gave me the look, and handed me one container. I looked at her and with two fingers held in the air, I repeated “Two.” She then reluctantly handed over another tiny little container of the sweet, spicy red stuff that sits next to a giant plastic container full of it. I don’t understand why this gets under her skin so bad. I know, because it happens every time I’ve ever asked. Post a sign about it or something Lol because I have no clue why this bothers her so terribly. I just happen to like the teaspoon of sweet, spicy, red saucy stuff to go with my rice sometimes. Sorry,...

My friend and I came in about an hour before closing and they were very gracious and patient with us. We casually mentioned that we wanted to order the chicken wings to split and when our order was taken, he said he'd already started making them because he overheard us. If you don't know, deepfrying can take quite a bit longer than you think and making fresh wings can be very time consuming, so because of his anticipation, we got our wings very quickly. They were very good. Nice and crispy on the outside and juicy well cooked meat on the inside. The sauce was a great compliment and they didn't overdo it by drowning the wings in the stuff. As a main dish, I got the yellow curry. It's very well balanced and not overly sweet like some places. I got it mild, but I might try medium spicy next time. The atmosphere was so welcoming. I love all the plants. There was enough texture in the space that I could speak fairly quietly with my friend without being drowned out by reverb and noisy music. The price was very reasonable and I wish there was time to try their mango sticky rice, but I didn't want to order something right before closing. I guess I'll have...

I rate and try Pad Thai across the entire Pacific Northwest, and I can say that this is a really yummy Pad Thai for the area and a really nice atmosphere. Unlike typical Pad Thai you will find around here, this has a much thicker (and more absorbing) sauce. The noodles are all coated in this kind of thicker sauce (not too thick, but simply thicker than standard), which is by all means not a bad thing and I actually quite enjoyed it. Texture is great and so is looks, but most importantly the taste ispretty solid, but more savory than spicy (or maybe considered sweet & savory). I would say this is like a high rating for constinency/texture, like an 8, but the flavor is like a 7.5. although it is good, I personally find this savory flavor to be a little too overpowering. Service was okay. It might have been that I came in at a slower time or that it was only this younger boy serving, but really got the "I don't care" vibe. Another lady helped me after and she was quite sweet, but I would give a 6/10 for service. Overall this place was pretty good, and deserves a 5 for Portland.

I’ve loved this place for years and have yet to be disappointed. I recently tried the golden squid and I honestly think it’s the best squid I’ve ever had. It wasn’t a fluke the first time I got it either because I’ve gotten it a few times and it’s always amazing! I’ve tried many items from Thai Pod, but lately I’ve been ordering #54, Pad Woon Sen, bean curd noodles. Can’t get enough of them. My boyfriend got the Pad Thai and enjoyed it. (Pictures provided) The staff always greet you with a smile, even when overloaded with orders and they are always super friendly. I highly recommend if you’re looking for some amazing Thai food.

The colorful awning and plants on the front of the restaurant are eye catching and attractive, making it easy to find. Online ordering and paying before arrival is convenient and no-touch - easy for COVID-19 social distancing. I look forward to the day when dining in is allowed again. I think the ambience inside would be quite nice. This was the first time I had Larb. The fresh cilantro and mint with cucumber slices, mini tomatoes, and the light sauce on the chicken was delightful. Nice presentation.
