Shake Bar — Restaurant in Portland

I am shocked that this place has so many stars. My husband and I attended a birthday party for one of my girlfriends there last night and it was hands down one of the most awful experiences I have ever had at a nightclub. My girlfriend paid over $1000 dollars for her VIP table and wasn't even able to get inside for a good 30 min. The staff was rude and completely unaccomadating. Once we finally got to the table we couldn't even enjoy the bottle she bought for the table (it was locked and there was no one in sight to serve it to us almost the entire time). We had strange men that came and sat at our table and refuse to leave and when we had security come to ask them to leave the table the guys straight up said "no we aren't going to leave" and security just walked away!! It was crowded and when I left the table to go to the bathroom I wasn't allowed back in to the VIP area where our table was for another 30 min. At that point I just wanted to get my stuff and leave but the security refused to even allow me to go to the table to do that!! I was forced to wait in that stupid line just so I could get my things to leave! DO NOT GO TO SHAKE. DO NOT spend your money here. These people have no idea how to run a club and take care of their high paying customers. Worst...

We reserved the VIP hip/hop room put $300 down. When we arrived they walked us to a table. I asked what table that was they stated the fireplace. Price difference between fireplace and hip hot is $200. They had no intention of telling me they downgraded us. Luckily melissa "a girl who works there" gave us a different table and two bottles plus champagne for the $300 I put down originally. She informed me that someone put $600 down on the hip/hop room. I think class goes a long way regardless of establishment and this act was not classy.

On another note their dance floor is so incredibly small. And not enough seating so people are quite literally milling around the dance floor space.

*security was awesome.. super respectful! *melissa tried but to be fair if I put a security deposit down that should be considered law. *seven in bend Oregon can definitely give you pointers. Still our top club. *will try dirty next time we are...

Our bartender (Tara) was awesome, bottle service was great..however at 10pm on a Friday my friends and I were the only people in the club. We were celebrating a bday and reserved a table and the DJ was incredibly rude to us and refused to play 1 r&b song for her (birthday sex)...AND WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE CLUB...I asked if it's only hip hop played there or if they ever play any dance music, like Odesza, and he tells me "uh yea I don't even know why that is.."😂😂😂😂 you're a nightclub DJ and you dont know who Odesza is!? The DJs attitude pretty much threw a wet blanket on the experience so we left; and then at 11pm the club was literally empty. Kind of a bummer experience and I used to bartend years ago in some of Portlands hottest clubs(2007-2010; Barracuda, Aura, Gypsy, Lotus...) and currently work summers at Las Vegas' biggest pool parties.
