Amazing place for brunch. Came on a Sunday around 11 and they were pretty busy but luckily we only had to wait for 20 min for a table for two. After being seated, it did take another 30 min for us to receive our food but the wait was well worth it.
Candied house bacon - 3/5 ⭐️. To us the bacon was overcooked and too rough, as we struggled to chew it. The taste was great though, although we wished it was a little sweeter.
Chicken and waffles - 5/5 ⭐️. Definitely the star of the show. The chicken was so well cooked, super tender and juicy and the breading was really crispy. It’s definitely a lot different than other fried chicken that we’ve tried before - it had a thicker breading, but it was still cooked so well it was very crispy.
Side of pancakes - 5/5 ⭐️. Great pancakes, and for the price, it’s a must get.
Berry lover French toast - 4/5 ⭐️. This tasted so good with the super fresh fruits and I really enjoyed the Frosted Flakes cereal on top, as well as the mascarpone. The only thing was it was much too sweet for my taste, it was a little overwhelming. It was still really good, just a little too over the top sweet for us.
Parking was pretty easy to find on the street, and there was some outdoor seating on the porch where we saw some people and their dogs which was nice. Inside it was pretty loud from everyone chatting, so sometimes it was hard to hear one another. The service was solid, nothing to complain about besides the slightly long wait but that’s to be expected with a new and popular brunch place on the weekends. Definitely recommend trying this place out, especially for the fried chicken...
Read moreMy husband and I are trying to eat at different restaurants lately instead of the same old tried and true where we normally go. I read some nice reviews of Sweet Bacon Cafe and we were already in the NW, so why not this one? It was very quiet when we went in on a weekday, but since we were well after brunch/lunch I can understand why. We were greeted immediately, seated, given menus as well as water and coffee. I a brief amount of time our server came to see if we had questions or were ready to order. We were. I had the lemon pancakes even though it's been a lot of years since I have ordered pancakes at a restaurant--too many bad pancakes, I think. My husband had pancakes, eggs, and chicken sausage with a cup of coffee. I didn't think to take photos (darn), but everything came out looking very appetizing. There was a little mixed fresh fruit strewn over the pancakes which made it look pretty. When I bit into my pancake it was as good as my mom-in-laws. The lemon sauce was very fresh tasting and not too sweet or sour. My husband enjoyed his pancakes as well and loved the large chicken sausage link. When I asked him about the coffee he said it was "fine". "Fine" is his way of not complaining, but it still lets me know it wasn't all that. We will be back and try some of the other great looking items on the menu. Oh, as an almost afterthought, It was a bit pricey. We spend over $50 on these two breakfasts and a...
Read moreI love the food here, it’s delicious, and the portions are amazing and I’d love to give it five stars but two of the three times I’ve been here the service is just really lacking. There’s another side of the restaurant and the last two times I’ve been here I can hear the server and the bartender chatting and laughing while no one is checking on the dining room, taking orders, refilling drinks, etc. Today (Feb 15, Lunch) I had to get up to ask for my order to be taken (waited well over five minutes—bartender said the server was in the bathroom but I heard them chatting just before) and then again to get a refill on my drink. Heard them chatting and laughing the entire time. The only time the server came by on their own volition was to drop off the check. You could even sometimes see them in kitchen but they would go the back way to the kitchen, never through the dining room, so you could never catch their attention. I feel pretty bad leaving this review — I know how hard most servers work, plus I really like this restaurant and I don’t feel I can come back now that I’ve left this review— but this is a new restaurant and they deserve every chance to succeed so I’m providing my honest feedback. (And yes I still tipped, just not my usual 20-25 percent, which I haven’t...
