Stay Portland — Hotel in Portland

We had a poor experience while using services provided by STAY PORTLAND and wouldn't recommend renting from them - we recently rented a room with them via Airbnb for 2 nights in Ladd's Addition Portland, OR. We were choosing between staying at STAY PORTLAND's rental property or a hotel - upon arrival we determined concerning issues w/ the property that were not mentioned and did not match the bright, clean, edited photos they used on Airbnb. Some of the main issues included:

The door lock looked as if someone had broken it or previously tried to break in + you had to lock yourself in using the same key that opens the outside of the door. There were spider webs, ants, spiders + misc live + dead bugs on the floor, ceiling, walls. Open, old takeout was left on the kitchen counter. Walls + doors were marked up and cracking. Upon inspecting the bathroom, the tub was filthy and the black floors were covered in layers of dust. The paintings on the wall were falling apart + the ceiling had mold accumulating on it and the pipes under the sink were rusting + leaking on the wall paint. In the kitchen cabinets, there were misc scattered personal items laying around that made it look as if someone had been staying there and left in a hurry. Windows were dirty + found a large undisclosed hole in the glass of one of the windows, where I assume the bugs were coming in from.

After further researching, I found that STAY PORTLAND has 95 rental properties across the Portland + Oregon area, which they are renting through Airbnb + multiple other websites - other customers have noted similar negative experiences including unsafe property management, misinformation per provided photos/entry, etc. The worst review said that illegal substances were found while staying at one of STAY PORTLAND's properties by one of their kids.

We tried to give the benefit of the doubt to the situation, which is why we stayed, but later realized this was a fraudulent situation based on the details that continued to add up with time + research.

Photos were sent to Trevor Stout (contact at STAY PORTLAND) who was responsive but offered little accountability for the situation. Airbnb fully refunded me after several complaints and I will no longer be using Airbnb for their involvement with fraudulent...

Stay Portland Collection, has a great variety of beautiful homes to choose from for your next trip to Portland! They offer multi-family accommodations, which I appreciate very much. When traveling with a large group, it is nice for everyone to have a comfortable private space to enjoy without the inconvenience of traveling to separate locations to meet up with other members of our group.
