We stayed in the Flanders Apartment at the PDX International Guesthouse and it was perfect for us. The apartment has its own fully stocked kitchen, private bath, washer/dryer and a separate bedroom which was perfect for when one wanted to nap and the other watch TV. There are so many amazing restaurants within a few blocks and if you want to cook your own meals their is a Trader Joe’s right next door! ||||The unit is located so close to Washington Park, the Rose Test Garden, the Japanese Gardens and the Chinese Gardens. We had a rental car but discovered you really don’t need one. Portland has amazing Public Transportation (street cars, light rail, buses) and Uber and Lyft were readily available. ||||Our hosts, Stepehen and Thomas, could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. They gave us tips and suggestions about what to do and where to go that you’ll never get from a guide book or online guides. ||||If you’re looking for a great place in a cool neighborhood that close to so much that Portland has to offer, you will be happy you stayed at the PDX International Guesthouse. We plan to come back as we didn’t see and do it all...
Read moreLove, love, LOVE this place. If you're hesitant because you're thinking, wait, shouldn't I do something "age appropriate" and spend a ton of money on a sterile and boring hotel because "that's what you're supposed to do when you're over 30"--banish that thought, and hit book. This place is lovely. It is so much better than a hotel, and it is cheaper than a lot of the AirBnBs available in Portland. It is super clean, the managers are DELIGHTFUL (and always available to help), and we hardly ran into another soul, even though I think the other two rooms on our floor also had people staying. It was honestly like we were staying in our own home. We never had bathroom wars, everyone is quiet and respectful, and you honestly cannot beat the location. Steps away from NW 23rd and the streetcar, plus at least two buses that easily take you into the other quadrants of Portland, or downtown. We had a phenomenal stay, and I will NEVER stay anywhere else when I...
Read moreMy wife and I bailed on this place after spending an hour trying to find a place to park in the overcrowded, traffic-crammed neighborhood. There is NO ON-SITE PARKING at this facility (contrary to its misleading description at Booking.com) and while the owner tells you you can buy a permit from the city to park on the street, there is actually no guarantee that parking is available even with a permit. We found one garage a block away that physically locks its doors overnight so you have no access to your car when they are closed. Location is fine if you are exploring the Pacific Northwest by Uber, but don't bother staying here if you own or are renting a car. There are much better options available with parking. Owners refunded one of our two nights but refused to refund the other. We would never have stayed here if their advertising had...
