I work close by and I've only been in here a handful of times. Yesterday I got breakfast and they messed up my order, most likely due to the language barrier. It was small and inconsequential to the point that I didn't even feel the need to bring the food back. I went in to get breakfast again this morning and tried to explain to the lady in a very friendly manner what I was looking for yesterday so that we could get today's order correct. She started to argue with me about what I said, telling me that I in fact did not say what I was claiming. I explained to her that I was not asking for a refund or anything for free, I was just trying to get today's order correct. She raised her voice and adamantly proclaimed that I was wrong. I again repeated that I was not looking for a handout of any kind, only trying to get today's order correct. After about 15 minutes of being yelled at when I was calmly trying to explain to her what the problem was I offered to go get food somewhere else and she quickly agreed. I paused at this quick reaction by her and said "You understand I work close by and was coming in to get a $20 order almost everyday for a couple weeks?". And again I tried to explain to her that I wasn't asking for any kind of hand out just to make sure my order was correct today. She was all too quick to lose a regular customer, that spends a decent amount per order(ordering for a group), over her own ego. The only issue she seemed to have the entire time was that she didn't feel she did anything wrong and was offended I would make such an accusation. The thing was, she was running back and forth between taking my order and the drive through the entire time yesterday. It's no wonder she misheard me. A simple correction on my order today was all I wanted, but they lost a daily customer because of it. Very disappointed with the customer service experience here, the food it's a little pricey but...
Read moreHaving moved from the Bay Area, where every where you turn you can find great Mexican food, I've been looking for a place to ease my burrito cravings. I have ordered the carnitas burrito my way (carnitas, guac, black beans, onions, cilantro, add chicken, and the spicy brown salsa) several times and it's been delicious. Their regular burrito has meat of your choice, rice, beans either pinto or black, and pico de gallo. I haven't had anything I would describe as greasy. Their carnitas is crispy and delicious (not drowned in soupy sauce), and they have diced chicken with spices and not that shredded crap I keep finding in my burritos and tacos around here. They have a great salsa they call "brown" which is made in house from roasted tomatoes, onions, and peppers. They also make a great habanero salsa, and a green less spicy one. All three are on the counter and ready for the taking along with chiles and the regular carrot, jalapeño, and onion mix.
I've tried Por Que No?, which was pretty good, but not quite what I was looking for. Missing that street vibe that makes Mexican food so yummy. Also Cha Cha Cha, which has great "Mama Beef", but is pricey and not open late. I also see many people eating giant plates of chicken or beef served with beans and rice, salsa and guac. They do have street tacos, but specify those are what you want because I see tacos on the menu served in a hard shell.
I too have found their staff to be really nice and have gotten my silly diva burrito order right every time. I've given four stars because I haven't tried everything and can only comment on my burrito. Plus they have a drive through and are open on the weekends...
