Best place ever. Marge, her sons, the rest of the staff are all amazing people who look out for their patrons. From the drink list, the atmosphere, the pizza, karaoke, pool tables, it's all 10/10. One thing I took notice to, was the male staff are protective of female patrons, keeping an eye on them/their drinks and any situations that may be uncomfortable. Aleays checking in to make sure patrons are enjoying their time. Ifeel so safe here, as a woman going out alone, I won't go anywhere else. And I have met some lifelong friends here, which I am insanely thankful for. If you want to find your chosen family, go down to Dstreet!! The tavern also just got some renovations done as well. It's looking sharper than ever! Don't listen to the bad reviews, they probably did something to get kicked out and are being bitter. Highly recommend Daniel...
Read moreThe bouncer identified my friend as being too drunk. At first we kinda understood because he was tired and drunk, slurring a little bit; but then as girls dropped their IDs and swayed two feet to pick them up he let them in and when he was confronted he called a couple of serious active duty military members idiots and threatened to called the cops. I should have called his bluff and I almost did. I love karaoke so much but even with their multiple days of karaoke I will never and I mean never go back. Their karaoke already was horrible. You want a song in the past five years, good luck. But I was willing to deal until this night because as someone who can totally understand someone being too drunk this was not the case. Suck karaoke and suck bar etiquette, done forever. And just one more time, karaoke...
Read moreI suppose this qualifies as a "dive bar" in the sense that it's unassuming, unpretentious, and generally cheap. However, I found it had very friendly staff who seemed, as much as time allowed, to take a genuine interest in a visiting stranger, and happy and fun, rather than raucous/crazy-drunk, clientele. I went on a Friday night for the karaoke, which generally had singers who were pleasant enough to listen to (rather than the kind of painful drunks who are incapable of carrying a tune in a bucket!) The KJ did an OK job of mixing the sound, not great for sure if you're a serious singer, but definitely better than the rather terrible average for such venues. Definitely fun if you're local or visiting, and for sure a worthwhile place if you like to...
