Come try The Friendly Toast with us 🤍 10/10 from the aesthetics to the food, and the service! This was our last stop for food before heading to the airport ✌🏽 #foodie #thefriendlytoast #newhampshire

This is your retro diner of the 80s and 90s. Walking in the atmosphere is fun and energetic, wide variety of music playing from Fleetwood Mac to All She Wants To Do is Dance by Don Henley. Our table was covered in music trading cards, great conversation starters. Our table was across from the bar, high top, tons to look at, eclectic. Our waitress Alex was very friendly and attentive, food came out fast and the restaurant was pretty busy for brunch on a Friday. We did not drink but the bar boasted a mimosa flight and Bloody Mary's that looked like meals. The food. The, food, options galore on the menu, true breakfast, brunch, lunch options, sweet and savory. We started with breakfast egg rolls, let's be honest, why are more foods not served in egg rolls. Eggs, cheese, homemade corn beef hash, accompanied by a hot honey dipping sauce. Keep this sauce to add to your main meal, it is fire. Irish Benny, homemade hash, thick English muffin and homemade hollandaise sauce, substitute sweet potato hash, could have used just a touch of fry on the potatoes to elevate the flavor. Sklarmageddon Omelet, hidden gem on this omelet is the maple sour cream, the touch of sweet you would be looking for to cut through all the meat. Sour dough toast had the perfect texture and flavor. But ... the real win today was the upgrade to the giant taters tots, served in cheese sauce, with cheese inside and deep fried .... cheese in cheese, the only appropriate answer is YES. Go here, eat here, love it here.

I recently visited The Friendly Toast in Boston’s Back Bay, and it quickly became one of my favorite brunch spots. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a vibrant, retro-inspired atmosphere filled with eclectic decor that added a fun and welcoming vibe to the dining experience. The menu was impressively diverse, catering to various dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. I decided to try the “Hash Quiche,” which was a delightful combination of cheesy eggs accompanied by a fresh fruit salad . The flavors were rich and satisfying, making it a standout dish. My friend opted for the “Breakfast Burrito,” which was generously filled and packed with flavor. The portion sizes were substantial, ensuring we left feeling full and content. We also shared the “French Toast Monster,” a cinnamon raisin French toast served with bacon, eggs, and home fries. It was a perfect blend of sweet and savory, and even though we got it to-go, it remained fresh and delicious . The service was prompt and friendly, with staff members who were attentive and eager to ensure we had a great experience. Despite the bustling environment, our food arrived quickly, and the staff maintained a cheerful demeanor throughout our visit. Overall, The Friendly Toast offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience with its creative menu, generous portions, and lively atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable brunch spot in Boston.

Really was not a fan of the service nor the food. We joined the line on our phone which said we were 10 minutes out from being seated. We arrived at the restaurant roughly 8 minutes later, to which we had to wait another half hour in their very very small lobby. They sat several other parties before us that had put their names in after us, which was tremendously frustrating. Especially when there were three hangry women in my party. When we were finally sat, they tried to make things better by offering us free churro bites. So we tried to look past the issues with seating at that point. We all ordered. We got our food, and it wasn't very good. The bacon was ice cold, rock solid but not crispy at all. It wasn't good. Home fries also ice cold. My french toast was literally one slice of bread. They put more butter with the dish than there was bread which was almost comical. By the end of the meal it seemed the only one who had truly enjoyed their meal, was the vegan member of our party. Then when we got the bill, it was missing 2 orange juices. We figured this was again due to the very poor service initially. Then the waitor comes back and says he forgot and had to add all our drinks to the bill, at which point we had already had all the money pooled together to pay. So he adds the drinks, we re do the math and leave our bill. Waitor proceeds to stop us and say that there was hardly a tip. Which was actually a mistake, but his attitude, and words he chose when asking for more to his tip was pretty unacceptable and insinuated we couldn't do math, and was trying to tell us what a 20% tip would be. Mind you, several of us in our party have worked in the restaurant industry before, and know that his service was 10% at best. When you're left a tip below you're desired percentage, then you can reflect on why you didn't deserve a better tip, like forgetting items, messing up the bill, and bringing us our food late and cold! I would never go back there, and would strongly suggest they speak with their staff about etiquette when dealing...

RUDE!! I’m gonna call it “The unfriendly toast” from now on. I was excited to try this place for brunch. However, the host at the front was very rude to our party for no good reason. We had been waiting for a table for an hour and a half outside (we new it was going to be a long wait so that wasn’t an issue). The issue was when we were trying to come in and we had let a party go in front of us. We had the door open because we were trying to come in and the host and maybe the manager/owner pushed past the first party and past my brother to tap on the glass of the door and say “See this?! Check this out!” On the other side of the glass was a small sign that said “Please keep door closed.” You can’t even see the sign if the door is already open. So we closed the door but my brother went in and said “You know there’s probably a better way to say that to people.” The host got all flustered because I’m sure no one has stood up to him about him being rude before. He immediately starts to backtrack about how he was acting but it was too late. The impression had been made. I’m never coming back. If it had just been me and my boyfriend I would have turned around and left, but since there was five of us and it was for my brothers birthday I wasn’t gonna dictate what we did. I only ordered a fruit cup because I didn’t want to give money to this place but I was starving after waiting for an hour and a half in the hot sun. Although the food was good and waitress was nice I was already in a bad mood over that first interaction. I understand that it was very busy and that he was probably stressed out but you shouldn’t talk to people like that. First...

Unfortunately, one of my favorite places completey disappointed with the hostess and manager's passive aggressive attitude for their mistake. I completely understand an extended wait for a large group of 7. I placed us on the waitlist and was told there would be a phone call from a CA number when the table is ready and the entire party has to be present to be seated. No issue there, so our party stayed outside. I received a text message to watch status in queue via Yelp. Our group was second in line and had a window for expected seating. Then there was a message via the Yelp app monitor saying delay. Again, no issues there I understand wait times can be delayed. I never received a phone call but received a text stating you were taken off the wait list and if this is mistake please let us know. I went to the hostess who immediately blamed me saying the full party never "checked back in." I showed my phone and explained I never received a call or notification that the table was ready. I was very rudely told that we never cheked back in so will go back on the waitlist. There was no apollogy or acknowlegement of her mistake. When I said this is unexceptable answer to put us back on the bottom of the waitlist after waiting for over 45 mins. Instead of offering solutions I had to request 2 separate tables as an alternative. The manager then butted in and very passive aggressively said we just gave you two tables "ahead of everyone" when you didn't check in. It was very disappointing and rude from a place I always loved to patron because of excellent food and servers/waitstaff. I will not...
