The Soupery — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Ah, The Soupery. One of the few places I’d ever give a review. I used to work at Bull Moose for 3 years and would come here often before my late shifts to grab dinner. I would often get the Chicken Cajun or the Cheesy Tomato, and it would fill me right up for the rest of the day, expecially during the long winters. Back in 2017 I moved away and never stopped thinking about these amazing soups. I finally was able to come back during a visit home and bring a cup of Chicken Cajun home. Still amazing as ever, especially with oyster crackers.

I live around the corner from the store in Portsmouth and have gotten various soups there many, many times. The soups have always been delicious which is why I go back so often. This was my first time this year after returning from our winter home and I was disappointed. I got the Haddock Chowder which was excellent and of the usual high quality. But I also got the Cajun Sweet Potato and Chicken soup. I couldn't find any chicken in it. Always with other chicken soups the chicken was generous, but I actually didn't see or taste any in this...

Great lunch on a rainy chilly day. There's only take out and I was worried my lunch would be cold once I walked it back to the hotel but everything was still piping hot. I ordered Cajun sweet potato with chicken soup - it was a delicious and satisfying balance of spicy and sweet. Grilled cheese sandwich was crunchy toasty on the outside and perfectly gooey on the inside. I'm visiting from out of town but, if I lived close by, I would definitely be a repeat customer at...
