Waffle House — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Had to delete an old review of this place to recreate an accurate one . The staff here epitomizes one thing and that's incompetence. Yesterday my wife and I went in, we sat at the bar and they were busy so we weren't rushing them. Then 20 mins later we still hadn't gotten a server, and 3-4 tables who had sat down after us had all already been served, yet we couldn't even get an order taken. Only one employee even acknowledged our existence in the place and that was to wipe the bar in front of us and tell us, "I'm covering down for the other seats at the counter, not you guys" when we asked for coffee and water.

Against my better judgement I tried them again. The combination of incompetence and poor planning can't be overcome. I waited 25 mins for my meal,when it finally arrived it wasn't even the correct order and it was cold. They were prioritizing online orders instead of patrons in seats. Which is what I suspect happened from my previous visit. I stay on the previous recommendations, go to a different restaurant and if waffle house is what you really want, go to the one in deep creek or battlefield

Do not go in this place. Go to any of the other local locations, or completely different restaurants, wherever, any where but this...

Worst customer service on the planet! I would give a negative star. Waitress was more concerned with conversation with her friends that weren't even eating. Had to ask for our drinks and food bc she was just standing around talking. Apparently she didn't like that. Heard her say to her freinds "aint no body gonna talk to me like dat". Her friends and even the manager (who was previously in the parking lot making out with one of the waitresses friends) encouraged our waitress to confront us with her attitude telling her not to take our bulls*@t. Very unprofessional. I guess getting a job at Chick-fila was out the question. They are fast and friendly, apparently something our waitress is not skilled at. I will never return to...

Absolutely disgusting once again how i was treated. I went on Mother's Day morning and I ordered to go, the young man who took my order was very nice. However, the person infront of me and behind me got their food and left within 10 minutes. I had been sitting there for 20 minutes when i watched a lady yell at the young man getting my food together...."In house first'....she walked over to my bag of food, reaches in, grabbed a waffle and then plopped it on a plate and took it to a table to eat. Almost 30 minutes I had to wait to finally get ALL my food. It was all cold and soggy by the time i got to eat it. I have an issue every single time i come in but this was just ridiculously...
