I don’t ever post reviews, ever. But this deserved a review. I’d give a zero if able to do so. I grew up here, and used to come here all the time and always loved it. I haven’t been here in years, so I recently ordered to go. Pictures is what I received. Which the General’s chicken was 20 dollars itself. Not abnormal, but it wasn’t even a quarter of the way full. Maybe a quarter full. I called them as I was returning back to work, as I thought they made a mistake (I order Asian type food all the time and have never had it this empty before, the boxes are usually pretty full since your paying so much. The lady answered telling me that they put 14-15 pieces of chicken in there. Sometimes 16. I was baffled, and she really wasn’t sure what to say, so she got someone else on the phone to help, which she wasn’t any help at all. She was almost rude and annoyed that I called. So, in all, they literally charge over a dollar for small pieces of overcooked, rough and hard chicken with the smallest box of white rice possible. My other order was a lunch special, the little pieces of white spread across is chicken. It’s literally soggy…..Watered down cheap processed lunch meat. I didn’t even attempt to eat it. I asked originally for veggie fried rice since I do not eat pork and was told I had to get chicken or pork. There are no veggies in their “fried rice” I could have done without the nasty pieces of chicken on the rice, honestly. They told me to drive back with the food for a refund, which I was at work so unable to do so. It went in the garbage since it was beyond disgusting and not really edible. This place has gone way downhill, especially for the prices they charge. I am beyond disappointed on not only the food but lack of customer service. I do NOT recommend you spend your money here, unless you want to be highly...
Read moreI am on day 4 of recovering from food poisoning from a completely different restaurant, not Golden Dragon, lets be clear. I hadn’t eaten in the 1st 40 hours and only had an apple on day 3. So feeling a little better today i decided to get some soup. I got a large waton and hot and sour. Yeah they are fricken large. And that came with a hefty price tag. Was a bit disappointed the prices weren’t listed on their online menu. But i bit the bullet and paid the 30 something dollars.
I ate the entire wonton soup. I was expecting it to be just broth and wantons but no, it had peas, water chess nuts , carrot, cabbage, even little bits of lettuce in there as well. It was good. Not the best I’ve had but with all the extras, a solid soup.
I was going to save the hot and sour for later, but i wanted to take a bite. Omg, I couldn’t stop. I ate like a 3rd of it. Maybe i was just famished but i tell you what, that hit the spot. Exactly what i needed. Like the waton, it was packed full of ingredients. That might have been one of the best hot and sour soups ive had. They do not skimp and the price reflects it haha. It’s unfortunate that with my new diet i can’t eat Chinese food anymore because id really like to try their entrees. But i cheated today because i was sick and it was worth it. Id love to say ill be back but thats unlikely but ill send people your...
Read moreI'm seeing a lot of negative reviews, which of course they are entitled to their opinion but I actually really enjoy the food here! You've just got to browse around for something you may like because some of the dishes are a little different than what we're used to, but there are some really tasty options!
And say what you want about the food, but the service is amazing. All of the waitresses here are absolute sweethearts and are so welcoming and helpful. They really brighten up your day and seem genuinely happy to be there. If you need modifications, clarifications, or want to size down to half portions for most dishes they can do that no problem! The portion sizes for full plates are very generous!
My recommendation is the Moo Shu Pork! It is stir fried pork, egg, cabbage, carrot, and mushroom. It comes with 4 pancakes you use like tortillas. You take the pancake, spread the hoisin sauce on it, dish yourself out some moo shu, top with green onion, and roll it up and munch! It's my favorite thing on the menu, so so delicious!
I also enjoy their almond chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and their chicken soup! The chicken soup comes in a big portion though so be prepared if you order! Haha....
