Ordered Pizza last night at 8:28pm (Sunday night). According to the Papa Johns app, estimated time of Pizza Delivery was to be between 9:04 and 9:14. Watching the pizza tracker my pizza was out of the oven by 8:50pm. Did not leave the store for delivery until 9:20. By 9:58 pizza had still not arrived to our house so I called the store. I talked to some kid on the phone that acted like a punk. He didn't care when I nicely told him my concern. Did not even say sorry for the delay or anything. I wasn't expecting to get free food when I called, but maybe they could have offered to remake my pizza? Or said sorry? Or gave me an update or a good excuse why I had to wait so long? I would have gladly drove down to the store (since we only live 3 minutes away) to pick up a new fresh order. I paid $45 for my meal and already planned to leave a good tip for the driver - that's hard earned money that I was spending at THEIR business. Because of his attitude, I asked to have my order cancelled. He very happily said "I will call the driver and let them know" and hung up on me. I then went directly on the Dominos app and ordered a pizza that arrived HOT AND FRESH within 25 minutes. I also saved $5 for the exact same order of food! Tipped the driver $10 who was very very thankful.
I understand that it can get busy (I personally worked at a Papa Johns for 2 years). I know that customer complaints can get tiring during busy times as well. Maybe just treat your customers with respect and provide good service so that they return! Which it never arrived to our door. It took us about four phone calls to finally speak to someone that wasn’t wanting to put us on hold. Once we spoke to someone she assured that it was still out for delivery and that we could contact our door Dash by text. - still unsure why the text would inform us that our pizza was right around the corner and then delivered. We tried to call and text but the phone was blocked and It would not allow calls. It is from a long distance number
When I called Papa John’s back to inform them of this all they said is that they can look into it or we could cancel our order. They told me that they were shortstaffed and that there was nothing they could do. Yes I was heated and wanted answers to why the pizza had not been delivered when the text messages we had received had stated otherwise.All she could tell me is that she would call me back and look into it. That did not suffice and when I told her that she hung up on me… I could not believe a company would hang up on someone…
And when I called back three or four more times they refused to answer the phone. I will never use this company and will recommend no one uses them again. Our community does not need a company that is unwilling to do right by their customers especially when we have paid and tipped. My family contributed to the buzz of National Pizza day and placed our order around dinner much like everyone else. With this, I expected there to be a significant wait time and was shocked that I was quoted 25 minute wait time given the time/day. I arrived to pick up my carry out and quickly became part of the swarm of bodies who were also waiting. I checked in and the gentleman stated it was going to be much longer and my order wasn’t started yet due to vital equipment failure (lower oven). Being said, this was going to take a while but I had paid was content in waiting for delicious Papa Johns Pizza. I was shocked seeing the general public come and go, taking their frustrations out on the staff. It should be noted, the staff was busting their hump as the phones rang and orders continued to pour in. I watched people speak rudely under their breath, place orders and the leave and carry outs never to be picked up. All the while, the staff continued to treat others with respect and even credit them for their extended wait. Finally, I received my credit, pizza as well as added bonus of extra pizzas, cheese bread and soda.
Simply put, it was delicious. They were kind to me and I hope I showcased my gratitude and kindness back to them. I will continue to go there as long as they are in...
