Whoever gives this place five star review, Is either Affiliated with the chain, A bot, literally insane, Or just an unfortunate soul who has never had the pleasure of having good mexican/ mexican american food. I've been to the chain in several locations - all across the water, as well as the Bremerton and poulsbo locations. To be honest, I've never had any good mexican food from any twenty four hour drive thru... And I've tried several !!! in tacoma, Des moines,Burien, and more...i've always been disappointed. But I keep trying, out of desperation for a good meal... But mexican food literally any time a day is a concept that clearly is too good to be true :( To narrow it back down to this franchise/chain, specifically, Their food is horrible. The carne asada tastes like jerky! If you have to pick meat from here, the carnitas are edible , at best. The verde salsa tastes like water- the red one is acceptable, but it makes my poor little gringo eyes tear up a bit... But if you want the food to have any flavor, you must suffer through it. I am posting this in hopes that the franchise owner might see it, And improve The quality of the food! To narrow down even further to this specific location, I will detail an annoying experience Ihad yesterday... It was easter sunday, And no one in my family cooked Anything... So yet again, Out of desperation, I find myself in the drive through. To be fair even the dairy queen was closed
I got exactly what I expected, So i'm not here to Cry about the quality of food I got from this location. I'm complaining about the fact that when I went to order a small hibiscus Augua Fresca, I was met with " Oh, We're out of smalls. Do you want medium instead?" To which I replied "for the price of a small?" ..."uhmmm, no"- The audacity! Lol I know she was probably just following policy, And she didn't want to get in trouble Or something, But she should have been allowed to give me the medium for the price of the small. Their lack of inventory is not my problem. So, since a small size drink is advertised on their menu, She should have given me the next size available for the price i originally intended to pay. And their augua Fresca is too pricey anyway! But that seems to be a problem with many restaurants, a result of inflation, I'm sure. Anyway, it's not a big of a deal. The girl was pleasant when I pulled up and made her run back-and-forth to get me limes& salsa, etc. She met me warmly, and was cute wearing Miss Mee jeans, so i'm not mad ( her fashion choice makes me a little biased). But I had to come on here and rant because I was disgusted by this place having a five-star overall review!!¡ let me be the one to...
Read moreI grew up in SoCal, so finding REALLY GOOD Mexican food in Kitsap WA has been... meh... sometimes there's like zero spice, or there's some odd spice that I've never tasted in any restaurant or family friend's home before and it's not to my liking... any who. I went here for a breakfast burrito when it first opened and well, it wasn't AMAZING, but it was good and satisfying and with the salsa verde it was delish! Their salsa verde is REALLY good and flavorful, so if you put the salsa verde on ANYTHING it is delish! My new favorite though is the Mulita, something I've never known the name of before, I used to make these with friends and we just called them mini quesadias... I get mine without the onions and the salsa verde and just 2 is enough to fill me. its made with corn tortilla so I am assuming it's gluten free, which I do try to avoid too much of in my diet. My favorite breakfast burrito is the seahawks burrito and I cut that sucker in half, it would easily feed my husband and me or my growing 10 yr old and I. These are the big burritos I grew up getting in Cali. Their meat could use a little more seasoning, but so far I have been happy every time I try something new. The oreo churro is good, but it crumbles, that's just how they are though, the cinnamon is pretty good. I have also had the chile relleno burrito... OMG! soooo good... now, they did forget to remove the little stem, but I ran into it before biting it thankfully. Otherwise, there's only one other south of the boarder restaurant I have loved out here and it's literally up the street. I do recommend this place, especially since it is with a drive through, the folks here are making some good food, I have not been sick from it and I've eaten it pretty often. One of these days I'm going to do the taco pack for $40 for a group and see...
Read moreI was excited for more authentic Tex-Mex in place of Taco Bell and the like. I've been here more than a few times, and it had been great. But the last couple of times I've gone, my cheese enchilada is just unmelted cheese in a tortilla swimming in way too much enchilada sauce.
The first time it happened, I asked about it, and they said they didn't have the oven working or something and so they weren't able to melt the cheese. They swapped my order (I was dining in) to something else, and it was good.
This time, I asked at the drive-thru speaker to verify everything was in working order and that the cheese would be melted in my cheese enchilada. They assured me it would be. I get my food and we go to the park to sit and eat. The cheese on top of my beans was melted just fine. The cheese in my cheese enchilada? Still not melted, but only softened and warmed. And the tortilla was sort of folded over like a soft taco, but not even completely folded over. It took me a second to realize the other half 5 open and flat in yhr dish. There was an insane amount of enchilada sauce. One slight tilt of the container, and it would've spilled out everywhere.
The photos are after I had eaten it a bit and pulled back the tortilla to check inside. You could see each grated "string" of the cheese used for the enchiladas, and it wasn't even close to being melted.
All the little bits that kind of look like little worms and larvae swimming the sauce and inside the tortilla 6...
