The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — Restaurant in Poway

I’m in awe right now. The staff at this location always go above and beyond expectations to make their customers happy!! I moved to SD from Seattle about 2.5 years ago and needed to find a coffee place that served real coffee (sorry Starbucks). Began visiting this place religiously, about 6 days a week for all my coffee needs but ended up moving home about 2 months ago to help some family and just returned on Friday. Yesterday I visited the coffee bean in Carmel mountain and ordered my usual drink, only to get a watered down super heavily concentrated drink that I ended up tossing out and was super disappointed at. Today I visited my favorite coffee bean in poway and not only had my drink made to perfection, but the staff remembered me and my drink after so long and even wrote me a small note!!!! The girl who was working on Sunday morning (12/10) short black hair was so incredibly rude.

My boyfriend ordered a latte and she cut him off and said “HOT OR ICED?” He was like “iced” and she’s like “uhhhh you want a latte iced? We don’t do that.” And he said “sorry, just one second, I’m ordering what I’m told” and she cut him off and said “WELL then I can’t make your order if you don’t tell me if it’s hot or iced.”

This was all in a 20 second interaction, and there was no line. We pull up to the window and she said “hi” and nothing else to us. She didn’t say the price, the drink order, nothing. My bf had to speak first and be like “it’s Apple Pay” to which she just held the reader out with no response.

Very bad service rude employees and managers at the Poway California location especially the manager she fought with us for no reason as my friend ordered a black coffee because he is diabetic and they gave un a French vanilla late when we asked is this a black coffee they insisted that it is so we needed them to change it to a regular black coffee the manager came and started screaming and told us to leave her store and then I guess her boyfriend came and wanted to fight us. I don't think any customer should get this treatment anywhere also I don't know these types of employees should not be working in customer service treating people with racism and...
