Overall: Part of me is unsure how I feel about this place. Service was a little slow (poor girl, only one server for 6 tables and take out), ambience was nice, and food was good (but it didn't taste like regular Japanese food). +1 points

Food: +0.5 stars Oyster Jalapeno Udon: Weirdly enough, I liked the jalapeno add to it. There was no oyster taste and the little random ones on top is weird. Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl: It was a large portion but it had random slices of dill pickles...weird Tonkatsu Ramen: The brother was whiter than other broths. It was flavorful but something was...off Miso Ramen: The broth was a lot sweeter, didn't taste like traditional miso Plum Wine: It was pretty good :) but my friend didn't like it

Service/Staff: Getting water or the bill took a long time. Almost considering paying cash to leave. I felt bad because there was only one server for taking out and handling 6 tables and walk-ins. +0.5 points

Price: The price was not bad. It was pretty normal. 12 bucks for...

Been here many times pre COVID. I love their ramen and udon. I always tell others that this place is the same caliber as the ones on Convoy. So glad it’s in Poway!

Finally made my way back again for lunch. Don’t have to fight for parking, there’s plenty.

They serve bento boxes, rolls, noodles, and rice bowls.

I got the lunch special which was Ramen plus a side ($16.99). The sides was basically a mini meal. You could choose from spicy tuna, chicken, bulgogi, poke bowl, California roll or spicy tuna roll. I got poke bowl.

It was a delicious meal. The poke bowl came out first. I got the spicy Tonkotsu ramen. It wasn’t spicy but the noodles tasted great, chewy and had a nice texture. The broth was creamy. Had two slices of chasu.

It was the perfect lunch combo for the portion and price. Service...

First time trying Tong Sake House. I wanted some ramen but my wife is not a huge ramen fan, so we thought we'd give them a shot. We're glad we did!

My Tonkotsu ramen was good but not great. I added the egg, which was perfectly done. Very good broth, but the pork was not as tender as it could have been. The noodles were just right.

My wife tried the Shrimp Teriyaki bento box. Outstanding! Perfectly prepared shrimp, nicely flavored. She ate all of her gyoza before I could get a bite, but she said they were tasty. Miso soup was good... not too salty, which sometimes happens.

She had a draft beer and I had hot house sake. They also have a bar, but I don't know how extensive.

We'll definitely be back to try other items...
