The food is good but I have to say customer service needs to be worked on with some employees including management. Providing great customer service should be top priority. My friend and i were there today and the food was good. She ordered a lemonade because she cant do anything with caffeine in it. When she tasted it, she said it was watered down and she didnt drink it anymore. The food was brought the table and we started eating. So when the waitress came back my friend requested if she could just have some water and not be charged for the lemonade because it was watered down. The waitress seemed to get on offense very quickly and said she can not take the drink off, it has to be approved by a manager. So she comes back after speaking with the manager (and we saw them talking) and says my manager says she will take the drink off this time. My issue is with the phrase "this time" ... The drink is maybe .99 or $1 & change. So because of a drink that employees didn't check on or bother to see if its still good and it got served. For all we know the drink could have been sitting. My friend did not let the drink sit to be watered. When we got the drinks first we started drinking them because we are thirsty. So I just said lets go and we go to pay for food. My friend sees the manager and began to explain to her that she can pay for the drink...it wasn't that serious. It was the service behind it all. The manager has an attitude as well and said its ok sweetie... I'll take care of it this time for you. Next time she May not be able too as she is only allowed to do so many voids a day and that another drink could have been given instead of the void. WOW!!!! Did she not remember or did the waitress not tell her the whole story and gave a different story. She can't have caffeine and decided to get lemonade. The lemonade was not good and she asked for a water...plain and simple. There was nothing else offered. So you'd rather represent and say this time I can take the $1 drink off implying you will not do it next time than provide customer service by letting the drink go to ensure customers come back. We weren't asking about the food or anything...just a drink. When the cashier asked did my friend want to leave a tip...i really got it when my friend said not "this time". Sometimes its just the small things that can be done for customer satisfaction. But saying "this time" is not a good thing to say. They probably would not even notice us if we went back a next time. Food and products can be great but a bad customer service experience is hard to turn around. Sometimes I do give 2nd chances just to see but I do have to think if I really want too. Many places are lacking customer service nor providing continuous trainings. They are only concerned with keeping production going but it's...
Read moreFirst off, when we walked through the door there wasn't a host/hostess to greet us and seat us. We stood there waiting until the cashier showed up (sloppily dressed and dyed pink hair) with a server. Both were not in proper work uniforms ( non of the workers that we saw was in uniform ). We were seated in a booth that has torn faux leather seats, the plastic menus were sticky and dirty and the floor needs swept and mopped. Although huge and spacious, the restaurant was sadly NOT even to one fourth capacity. It was a ghost town inside. We took a few minutes to decide what to order. I asked the waitress what would be best, she said that she doesn't really know. We finally placed our order of 2 orders of Calabash Chicken... 1 with Corn Bread, Broccoli Casserole and macaroni with cheese and, 1 with Dinner Rolls, Baked Potato and Cole Slaw. Needless to say, it was a complete and total culinary letdown! The Corn Bread was never brought to the table. Absolutely no desirable flavor to any of the food items that were brought to the table!! The Calabash Chicken was nothing but store-bought chicken nuggets and was not cooked through, the Broccoli Casserole was obviously microwaved and still raw, the Macaroni and Cheese was cooked the same way, the Baked Potato was TWICE baked and smelled like it was overdue for the garbage can, the Cole Slaw was obviously NOT scratch made, and the Dinner Rolls was outdated. We tried have a talk with the manager about the poor quality of the food but, was only given the waitress who seated us. She apologized for the horrible food and made excuses that they have a new cook in their kitchen that they don't believe knows what she's doing back there. She said that she'd give us a discount on our bill but, she only took $1.00 off. SMH. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to THIS...
Read moreFirst, our waitress was super sweet and attentive!! Zero complaints. Unfortunately, this is a one and done and we won't return. 3 meals, all meat & 3s. 1) Plain hamburger steak with fried okra, lima beans, and green beans. 2) grilled pork chops with green beans, collard greens, and buttered corn. 3) calabash shrimp with 2 macaroni and cheese, squash casserole. Thoughts: The hamburger steak wasn't bad, but nothing special either. My husband said the green beans and lima beans were okay but needed more seasoning. Grilled pork chops, one of which tasted off, so I didn't eat it and just left it on the plate. The other was fine, but in general they're like paper thin. You don't really feel like you're eating a chop. The green beans , corn, and collard greens were all warm, not hot, and typical canned vegetables. They desperately needed seasoning. The shrimp was very briney tasting. We took them to go, but our son didn't like them. He usually loves fried shrimp. He loved the macaroni and cheese. The squash casserole had too much of a mayonnaise taste, so it didn't get eaten. On the way out we decided to get a piece of strawberry cake or cheesecake. I'm not sure. We actually thought it was cherry and went to return it, but was assured it was strawberry. It was gross. I'm sorry, but it was inedible. It had goopy canned red strawberry stuff on the top. No fresh strawberries. The main part was so incredibly artificial tasting. They drizzled condensed milk (I think) on the top lid; not on the dessert, but on the lid. I'm not sure what the purpose of that was??? This stop was a huge fail, and unfortunately we can't recommend. After spending $70+ after tip, its just not worth eating at a place like this. Everything seems canned and/or frozen.
Oh, there seemed to be a bullet hole outside the...
