I’m sad that Denny’s disappointed me so much I’ll avoid any Denny’s as much as I can.
Knowing from working at Denny’s that food usually Is no wow very often and also knowing that from Veterans day meals at Denny’s.
….so yea even though I knew I still wanted to try the location because of the Veterans day experiences…even though those never were wow in service & food.
I was drawn to the location for all you can eat fish…& really have wanted to try the same for wings. I asked if I get the fish could I switch after a portion and get wings (both were available and cost the same). Server said something like “there’s an extra charge” idk why because it could be done…. I guess its the policy excuse…if I were working there Id try my best to do it even if its a stupid policy location…same if I were the manager etc…as long as it’s within most of the good policies.
Though I wasn’t disappointed too much …yet…I waited for my salad…I should of asked for no cucumbers…..anyway I got what seemed to be blue cheese which tasted like milk..even though I ordered RANCH…I said nothing because I don’t like to waste if its edible and if I expect to be full after the meal.
Later came my dish…only 1 fish ball…the server said more was on the way which didn’t effect my experience much because I prefer hot food than cold…especially fried fish…the fish was good ..heck possibly better than expected…until the other fish arrived..fresh…but not crispy all the way through.. I think each serving of fish was supposed to be 3-4 fish balls. All the rest of the fish had batter uncooked….that’s when I was knowing things weren’t going to get better….ohh the tartar sauce…man I’ve never had such strong tartar sauce…I don’t know how that happened because the appearance if the sauce looked like it was an exceptable amount of relish/pickle but man it was strong!! It didn’t seem to be thinned by adding pickle/relish juice…so yeah that was bad…even after adding a pack of sugar it was barely edible….I’m a tartar fan but not a strong flavored tartar fan…& almost never use pickles …maybe a little relish but rare for me to use it for anything but tartar sauce.
Anyway 2 visits to the bathroom and it was clean and good.
…the fish..well excuseable…especially since the first ball was good and well done but the bad sauce plus the other fish not so desirable…plus No ranch for my salad were the clinchers to help me to avoid Denny’s.
I wish Denny’s would add more seasoning to most things…hash browns…dressing…course tartar sauce…etc. yea natural flavors are good from foods but some of their stuff just can’t shine in my opinion as a personal chef unless they up their quality of ingredients….which I don’t think is necessary…although some cooks/chefs can’t season things and mistakes happen… but if someone thinks something like hashbrowns are the best at Denny’s…um they like bland or nearly bland hashbrowns..etc …it’s slightly funny that the tartar sauce was so strong.. I kept trying it and stirring it hoping something magical would happen…I should of asked for an equal portion of mayo and mixed that together but I was too disappointed.
Key thing for most Denny’s….especially breakfast..bring some seasoning salt..onion powder..garlic powder..& then I could usually have an ok breakfast at a Denny’s…but why? Im not going to any restaurant because I want to have to fix a dish..nope I want it right the first time &/or fine tuning the flavors with only salt & pepper.. but from this & other experiences I think its rare only salt & pepper can make it a wow meal… not really even good usually…Don’t take it personally Denny’s restaurant staff..to me the main issues start at corporate..& goes...
Read moreThe waitress was so RUDE She is lucky I even tipped her. I tipped a 5% tip.I always do 20% or more of they deserve it! Me and my four children went there for breakfast we don't go out often so this was a treat for all of us. I only asked our waitress (I do not remember her she was tall heavy build brown hair)three times besides her taking our order for something a drink for me hot chocolate for my three youngest andm y oldest son (who is only ten)asked for a drink for himself each time She gave a sigh as in she was irritated by thatand rolled her eyes She never asked us once how everything was going or if we needed anything and then one of the drinks spilled everywhere! I told this other waitress we waited for 5 minutes. Nothing. Then our waitress came by and I told her and she's once again gives us a huff and a puff as she was clearly irritated like every time I asked her for something she was like oh okay and then walked away and still nothing happened we sat there for about 5 to 10 more minutes with this spilled drink and mess on the table spilled on my son I did the best I could cleaning up with what I had with the napkins we had So I was like you know what let's just leave, so I left a small tips as we get up to leave she said in the nicest voice she had talked to us the whole time "thank you guys for coming in have a great day" I paid and left and I will NEVER go back their again. The energy in that place was heavy not light and happy. VERY...
Read moreMy family of three had dinner 10/26/25 @ Prescott Valley Denny's and did not have a good experience. My daughter ordered the country fried steak dinner and found a 3.5" hair in her mashed potatoes, my husband's sandwich was late to the table due to a kitchen error ( he's lactose intolerant and it had cheese on it) and my sandwich was missing the avocado that comes on it yet had tomatoes that I asked not be included. The fries that came on both my husbands and my plate were like the last of the basket fries, very short and crisp ends. The kitchen remade the country fried steak dinner and it was good. Our server was apologetic and was at no fault herself. She retrieved the avocado and checked on us regularly to ensure the remainder of dinner was satisfactory. However, I was a little surprised that we were not offered any kind of discount as an apology for at least the hair in the meal. That whole experience cost us $65 not including a tip. ( We did still tip, again, it wasn't our servers fault). We understand restaurant experiences can be less than perfect and we're all human however the multiple issues at one table resulting in us eating at different times isn't ideal for us. Just wanted to let you know how our experience was. Hair nets would be greatly appreciated...
