Sushi J Express — Restaurant in Prescott Valley

"The sushi I had was delicious and fresh, and the edamame was hot and flavorful. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and polite. I ordered a spider roll and a California roll, and both were spot on. I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but my hours didn't align before COVID. I tried other sushi places where you could sit in, but the sushi here is better. I called ahead to place my order and picked it up right on time. The price is about average. I would definitely recommend this place for sushi over most of the sushi places in Prescott Valley/Prescott. The place is clean and seemed very organized. My recommendation would be to call ahead and give them a pick-up time. There was no wait, and the man at the register was very nice. Overall, it was a great experience with fantastic food. It is a cash-only eatery, so when you call ahead, get the exact price so you're prepared. I called in an order for takeout after being disappointed with Fujiyama - (Four avocado rolls, two veggie rolls). The sushi was very delicious and took them about 20 minutes to prepare. Exactly the amount of time the lady on the phone advised. The price added up quickly after adding to Ramunes and two green teas. All together it was $52 bucks.

I was not disappointed in my order at all and had a pleasant interaction with the folks inside. They were personable, friendly, and informed us of other delicious options we could try.

It seems they are closed for one reason or another each time i try to stop by for take out. Decided to try one more time today and they were open.

I didn't get an opportunity to try the sushi though. I walked in. They looked at me and went back to what they were doing. Pretty much ignored me. Felt uncomfortable like I was being intrusive. Maybe it was because it was 1:30pm and they closed soon. I don't know but it was very awkward.

Looked at menu then went to order and noticed a hand written sign on counter "cash only". I always check Google before going somewhere and there was no mention of cash only. No cash on hand so left.
