This is my favorite hole-in-the-wall Mexican food restaurant in my hometown of Prescott, Arizona. Well, actually, it's located in Prescott Valley, but close enough. A dear friend of mine introduced me to this place's delicious tortas back in 2001, during my college days, and I've been coming here ever since. Because I no longer live in Prescott, I tend to visit on the weekends, which is when they serve their posole and I simply cannot bring myself to order anything else. It's a HUGE bowl of spicy red broth with delicious hunks of pork and belly-filling hominy. Alongside, it is served with lemon, chili flakes (I dump in lots), Mexican oregano, cilantro, onions and cabbage. Don't fret about the large portion, if you can stop yourself from slurping it all down, you can warm it up the next day and it's even more flavorful. Read moreIt’s difficult to speak too well of this restaurant. While it looks like any of thousands of Mexican restaurants in the United States, the food was superb and the service was excellent. We each got the third one, which was selecting three items for $15.99 and getting Soup or salad and rice and beans with that. My hard shell shredded beef tacos were incredibly delicious as well as my chicken enchilada. The beans were above average and the meatball soup was good. My wife’s dinner was equally well above average. We saw that there are a large number of Mexican restaurants here in Prescott Valley. This was the only one we ate at. I can only say that, in my opinion, it would be difficult if not impossible for one of the others...

Chips and salsa that come to the table lacked flavor but the waitress did say there was a help yourself salsa bar for variety so I grabbed a little of everything. Even the salsas there were lack luster with the exception of a orange pureed one that was ok. Dad ordered menudo and loved it, I ordered chili verde and it looked beautiful w pieces of roated chilis but it needed salt and the pork was dry somehow. I read margaritas were great so I had the classic w salt it was awful tasted like store bought bottled mixer w a hint of tequila. I really wanted to like this place as Im new in the area and looking for new places but I probably...
