Saturday night, 7:30 p.m. and they didn't seem overly busy. Got into the lobby, and there were probably a dozen or so cowboys that were clearly associated with the 2 large trucks and trailers outside. A young couple was standing at the counter... no greeter. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. I confirmed with them that they were waiting to be seated. They said yes, and no one had talked to them. We waited some more. Two ladies came in and stood with us. One of them finally asked if we were waiting to be seated. We both said yes. One of the ladies walked to the back and quickly came back. She told her friend they were leaving, "They have no idea what they are doing here." I then went to the back and found found 2 young girls behind the wall behind the front counter, eating chips and talking. I asked for the person in charge. They said they were not here. I asked again, and they just stared. I asked again, and they pointed to a kid no older than themselves. The kid walked to the front counter, shuffled the menus, and walked away. A grown man then came out from the back, with the 2 girls following, and he asked them, "Who? Where?" The 2 girls just stood there saying nothing. The man turned around and walked back toward the kitchen.

My wife and I walked out at that moment. We drove down the road a few miles to Casa Perez and had an incredible meal.

Don't waste your time at Olivas' Mexican food. They need to take down all those plaques on their wall stating they were the "best" all those times.

It is clear why they stopped getting voted the best Mexican food in Prescott back in 2019. Their...

Chips and salsa rock. Tonight's server, Cassi, spent 45 minutes socializing to her friends instead of taking care of her other tables. Only checked on our table twice. Only refilled 2 drinks out of the 4. DJ chased another employee out of the drink station area, out to the lobby. DJ's stance and body language was in a manner of threatening the employee that he chased. Appeared to fall under the realm of work place violence, unacceptable! Another employee who was wearing the red work shirt and shorts ran from out of the drink station area, through the lobby and out side. Other guests arrived and had to wait approximately 5 minutes until someone would acknowledge they were standing there, while Cassi continued to talk. One person in our party was texting and waiting for a response , then was accused by DJ of videotaping him and Cassi. When cashing out, asked for managers, GM or a corporate telephone number. Young man who was wearing the red work shirt and shorts, went to DJ to obtain the info. He returned and informed us that they could not provide us with the number. I have to say that the young man who was approximately 6'1" was busting his bottom taking care of his tables. He was very attentive. What happened to Olives? They use to be a great place to eat and the service was top notch. The food was better 5 years ago too. Olives really needs to look at their staff and maybe put some money into fixing the ripped bench seats. So sad that another good place has gone down the drain, due to...

We were seated, party of 5, and were only given 2 menus. We had to share and ask for more menus and we were blown off as the host walked past us and he said he didn't have any. I had to point out that there was a stack of them on his desk. It took 50 minutes to get our food after it was ordered. We were brought chips and salsa then waited 10 minutes for our drink order to even be taken. It was the worst service EVER. The guy was friendly but we never saw him. The place is dirty and dust is everywhere and the food was slightly below mediocre at best. We waited a VERY long time to get our check also. Nobody ate the mushy pale rice and the Guacamole was flavorless. The cream cheese toppings were piled on and it was nasty! The enchiladas were covered in cheese to the point that that was all there really was to them. I will not return. Oh, and we saw a waitress argue with a waiter right next to our table, very unprofessional. The food did not taste authentic at all. The games in the lobby are also all broken and just sitting around junking up the place. AWFUL...it was Saturday afternoon not during the lunch or dinner rush but it was a little busy. Not enough to warrant the terrible experience. We went there when we first moved here a few years ago and it was awful then too but we thought we would give it another...

Decent place to go if you're not wanting to spend too much on lunch. I've come here a few times. This time I ordered a chicken chimichanga but previously I've ordered beef tacos and beef chimichanga on previous and all are good. They serve you with chips and salsa shortly after seating. When I received the Chimi, it was covered red sauce with small pieces of green onion and lettuce on the side. It was a pleasing to the eye. The chicken inside was squared into chunks and not shredded like one would expect and the dish did not come with rice and beans. I ordered fried ice cream for dessert as I make it my thing to try out the fried ice cream whenever visiting a restaurant that offers it. It's been one of my fav's since childhood. The fried ice cream was beautifully done. Served in a margarita style glass with whipped cream covered in strawberry sauce with real strawberry pieces. The flavor was good with hints of coconut and Cinnamon. (I didn't have any alcohol so not sure how the drinks are) Otherwise, not a bad stop if looking for decent Mexican food that doesn't squeeze the wallet.

We have been coming to Olivas' for the longest time! It's a family owned and operated business. They are the kindest people and always treat everyone who comes in with the best service! When you are seated, you get a plate of hot and fresh tortilla chips! They serve it with a chunky mild salsa and a smoother hot salsa, for free! I always get the pollo fundido- the small portion is huge, very filling and comes with rice. Also, if you go on Tuesdays, they have buy one get one free tacos that are delicious. You can choose from shredded or ground beef. They have amazing fried ice cream that comes with whipped cream and strawberries. Also, the sampler plate that includes mini flautas, mini tacos, an enchilada, tamale and beans was very delicious. Fun to try all the things! If you love supporting local businesses, Olivas' is one you should try!
