Tonight (Valentines Day) I ordered pickup through their website/DoorDash. I received emailed confirmation that my order was ready, but when I arrived to pick it up, I was told that they didn’t have the order. I offered to wait for my order to be made, and was told the kitchen was too backed up. I then asked for a manager to clear up the matter. The manager said she would figure it out, but she refused to make the order and told me they shut off DoorDash orders. Mind you, there were two others behind me that came in for DoorDash pickup as well. I told her to just give me a refund, and then she proceeded to very loudly say my initial transaction was declined 3 times (which it went through the first time). Explain to me why you would attempt to charge someone’s card multiple times if you weren’t taking orders? Why did I receive an order confirmation and an email stating my order was ready for pickup? I showed her the order confirmation, as well proof of payment through my bank. I even had a representative from the bank confirm that the transaction went through, and she continued to deny it and declined to refund my payment. She followed by stating “If you knew who I was, you wouldn’t be talking to me this way”. She is extremely rude, highly unprofessional, and has no business being in customer service, let alone a management position. I attached photos for validation, and this will be the first time I have ever posted a bad review about any experience. My family lives in Prosper, across the way in fact. We were initially excited to see a new restaurant come in, as they are a bit hard to come by at the moment. But given the horrific experience, I regrettably will not come back nor recommend this place to other folks in the area. I ask if the owner of the restaurant values any sort of the client experience, to strongly consider finding another manager to manage their restaurant and investment. The manager that I dealt with was absolutely horrific, and it would be a shame if this place didn’t succeed, because of poor management.

When I go out to dinner with my girls, I hold restaurants to very high standards: clean bathrooms, a warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly host staff, excellent food, and attentive service are all musts. Salute delivered on nearly every front — and Michael made the entire evening exceptional. Michael was incredibly knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, offering spot-on recommendations that elevated our meal. He took time to answer my oldest daughter’s questions, cleaned trash from the edge of our table, wiped away drink condensation, and anticipated our needs before we had to ask. That level of attention to detail is rare and so appreciated. We also noticed how well the team worked together. The bartender personally dropped off my wine, and another server named Ever(b) came by twice to clear our table and keep things tidy — another sign of a restaurant where everyone looks out for each other. Not everyone we encountered was as warm. The curly-haired hostess seemed a bit put off when we hesitated about sitting outside, which started the evening on a slightly chilly note. Thankfully, the other hostess — a lovely woman in a blue dress — quickly turned the experience around with her accommodating, kind approach. The cherry on top came when a gentleman, who appeared to be the owner, personally stopped by to chat with us. That kind of personal touch speaks volumes about how much he cares about his guests’ experience and made us feel like truly valued customers. We had such a wonderful night that my girls ended it by playing rock–paper–scissors to see how far above 20% we’d tip — the perfect, lighthearted finale to a flawless evening. Salute is a true Italian gem. Between Michael’s outstanding service, the team’s flawless coordination, and the owner’s warm visit, we left feeling like we had just experienced a five-star evening. We will absolutely be back to support this charming and quaint little restaurant.

Salute Italian Restaurant in Prosper was a delightful first-time experience. I discovered this hidden gem while searching for a centrally located restaurant for my friends and me to meet. Tucked away from the main road, its discreet location only added to the charm. Upon entering, I was immediately taken by the restaurant’s aesthetic—elegant and visually appealing. The soft lighting, hanging chandeliers, lush greenery, and jazz-themed portraits set against a backdrop of smooth jazz music created a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We were warmly greeted by our server, Kortez, who began by introducing the wine specials and the most popular selections. While I don’t drink, I appreciated that they were able to accommodate both me and another non-drinking friend with mocktails. Our third companion selected the white rosé wine, which she thoroughly enjoyed. To start, I ordered the crab cakes and a wedge salad. The crab cakes were quite good—crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The wedge salad, however, fell a bit short. It was served with Italian dressing, which may not have been the best pairing, as wedge salads are typically accompanied by a blue cheese dressing for a richer, more balanced flavor, from my experience. Kortez also brought out fresh bread, which was soft, warm, and delicious, served with a pour of olive oil and balsamic vinegar—a classic touch that added to the experience. For our main courses, I had the Dijon salmon with vegetables, while my friends chose the mushroom ravioli and the lobster ravioli. Each dish was beautifully presented, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Overall, our first visit to Salute was a pleasing and memorable experience. The ambiance, service, and food all came together wonderfully. We’ll definitely be back.

One Star is Too Generous – Avoid Salute Italian in Prosper, TX

Where do I begin? Salute Italian came highly recommended by a neighbor who spoke highly of the food and overall experience. Unfortunately, my experience couldn’t have been more disappointing.

After a long day in the pool with the family, we decided to order takeout rather than dine in. We placed our order over the phone, which should have been a simple process—but even that was mishandled. The staff didn’t understand a basic request like “blue cheese on the side,” which was the first red flag.

We ordered four different flatbreads along with additional entrées, and were told the food would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later expecting to pay and leave. Instead, I walked into chaos.

Three different staff members asked if I had been helped, and when I explained I was waiting on my order, they said they would check on it—then disappeared without a follow-up. No communication, no update, just a total lack of urgency or concern.

It wasn’t busy. There was one table of customers. Yet no one could give a clear answer on the status of our food. At this point, we had waited close to 50 minutes for a simple pickup order.

The manager finally approached me and could offer nothing but a hollow “sorry” and a blank stare. No effort to make things right. No professionalism. Just empty words. Instead of taking accountability, he began reading the order out loud in a condescending tone, as if I needed a lesson in what I had ordered. Completely unacceptable.

To top it all off, the order was wrong. We asked for ranch as a substitute for the missing blue cheese, and we received neither. Strike three.

The food? Overpriced and tasted like it came from a microwave. Processed, bland, and nowhere near worth the frustration of the experience.

What’s most frustrating is not just the delay—it’s the complete lack of professionalism, the disorganization, and the zero accountability from staff and management. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority at Salute.

I will never return and will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place. If this is what passes for “hospitality,” the owners need to seriously reevaluate who they have representing their brand.

Salute? More like a slap in the face to anyone expecting decent service and...
