Amazing drinks, good friendly laid back staff despite being busy. However, because they don't have enough staff, we never got refills on our water and the tables were missing seasoning and napkins. Food also took almost 45 minutes to come out. It's clear they need another person or two helping around. The biggest downside and the reason this isn't 4-5 stars however is, the food was bland, absolutely bland. It was clear from 4 different dishes that not even salt or pepper was used on any of it. I literally took pieces of food off and visually inspected - nothing. Plain potatoes. Plain corned beef. Plain nachos... plain everything. Instead, oddly, every single dish came with parsley and sour cream, as if that'll do anything. They have some really unique foods too but it could be so much better. I ended up dumping salt, pepper, and hot sauce on all my food to make it palatable. Lastly, all the dishes seemed a tad pricey. Perhaps it's the location? Still, if I pass by again, perhaps I'd stop in, especially for their unique tasty drinks. Then again, there's so many Irish places in town that simply have better tasting food.

First visit to McBride’s and on a whim as we walked by. We were lured by seeing a plate of the fish and chips. Sat on the patio, got the fish and chips, which were excellent. Batter is light and crispy; haddock fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Serving size was very good value. Sadly, fries were soggy! Also got the corn beef Rueben. A good sandwich with out fuss. Serving was a bit small and had the sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries. Sweet potato fries were good. Nice selection of bottle/canned microbrews. Staff were friendly and attentive. Recommend!

Bartender took awhile to acknowledge our existence & I felt like an inconvenience when she eventually did speak to us. Didn’t offer water. They weren’t busy but still super slow- Potato wedges took abt 15 min?!.. & they weren’t very good. Beer was good tho. Bartender seemed more interested in talking to friends down the way. Service was borderline rude 👎🏻 also not a fan of their resigned motto of “it is what it is” & also “it could be a lot worse” LOL guess it speaks to our experience accurately 🤷♀️

McBride's Pub in Wayland Square is truly a gem. When you walk into Mcbride's you get the feeling that you could spend all day there. The picky thing that's different between an actual real Irish pub in Ireland and McBride's is a fireplace. Many of the pubs I visited when I lived there had them but this is just as good. Plenty of seats at the bar, and tables around the corner to get some solid food and watch a game. Everyone's friendly whether you're a local or local for just a bite to eat.
