The food was okay however the service was horrific. First server was polite but He left in midshift without introducing us to the new server. Then, We got the server from hell. She was petite with glasses- looked slightly Nepalese- and RUDE AF!!! I will not be taking my family there again. We ordered about $100 -about served ourselves cuz she didn't want to be bothered. We also had to ask for simple things not twice but 3x like for water. We were the only ones in the restaurant and there were two servers chit chatting at the bar the whole time!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

There was also a disconnect with the servers, food, and kitchen. When asked about the items on the menu, the server pushed anything and everything without any sincerity or personal opinion- there were no suggestions and a lot of "I'm not sure" or "I don't know". We're not picky eaters by all means but like to connect and see what our servers suggest based off their knowledge of the menu.

Do better Taste of India- you have a nice ambience going but please fire that server. She was certainly Desi with glasses . She does not belong in the service industry or with ppl in general. If she is related to you guys and you think this is doing you a favor-she is not!! You don't want servers who are actually doing their job looking at her and watching her get away with her attitude. ...

This place is one of my favorites! Service is great, everyone seems to work together for the best customer service possible!

I ordered chicken masala and ginger chai tea one of the most popular lunch specials. The food at first was served colder than Luke warm…however my server, Veronica was able to bring it back to the kitchen to be reheated. Props to the Chef/Cook for serving my food twice, 2nd time it was quite delicious! White basmati rice, served with the chicken masala, side of soup & a delicious desert of rice pudding. A very nice combination and proportion size.

Thanks to my server, Veronica for a wonderful dining in experience on this cold rainy day. She was very busy and still able to accommodate, serve us all without missing a beat! I appreciate your way of being.

This restaurant is homey and welcoming to gatherings of friends with family. The booths are a decent size, yet the lighting makes one feel extra cozy. Being homesick, the ambience and energy of this place is exactly what I needed. Blessing of much prosperity and abundance to all of the staff that adds such flavors to our palette! Next time I will try to remember to take photos…once plate was put before me, the aromas distracted my every existence. Happy Holidays to anyone who is...

The third Indian restaurant with the similar name and poor quality of food really makes me wonder about the unimaginative souls who come up with the names.

First of all, I don't condone poorly made dishes especially of my own culture and country. The chicken jalfrezi was boiled chicken tossed in some pre prepared gravy. The tandoori chicken was bland with minimal spices. The goat curry was another failed attempt to make a traditional dish.

I have no issue about making Indian dishes less hot for the majority of the patrons who may not like hot spicy, but don't skimp on spices that are needed to make it tasty and delicious not just on your tastebuds but also to smell and savor. There are several spices that are used in cooking Indian and chilis aren't the only ones.

Please restore the authenticity of the Indian dishes and let's all enjoy the food for which we come a long way and...

We thoroughly enjoyed A Taste of India, an intimate storefront restaurant located a few minutes from downtown Providence. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food delicious and authentic, and the dining area filled with tables that are perfect for groups of 2 - 4 (but can be combined for larger groups). We found the garlic naan to be hot, fresh, and delicious. And the two entrees that we ordered and shared (lamb and eggplant) to be flavorfully spiced and consistent with the level of heat that we requested. The large windows allow plenty of light and views of the neighborhood, making you feel as though you are a part of the vibrant scene and life of the neighborhood. We look forward to visiting again the next time we are in town.

Great apps and bread. The cold Samosa Chaat appetizer was so good. ($8.95). The sauce was so tasty and their samosas were creamy under a bed of that sauce and chickpeas. Their Vegetable Samosa app ($6.95) comes with two large, warm and creamy pieces. I also tried for the first time, Traditional Alu Parantha ($5.50). It's whole wheat bread filled with I believe Samosa filling and griddled with what tasted like ghee. Amazing!! Much better portions then their lunch menu. Last time I got their Chicken Korma lunch special and the amount of chicken they gave was disappointing. I got 3 regular sized cubes of chicken.

Average food, staff lacks interest. not allergy aware, told me they could not guarantee specific ingredient will not be in my food (lemon juice). when asked for a piece of onion, informed me it will cost $2.25 for "Indian salad". I have never ever been charged extra for a piece of onion in any Indian restaurant before this.
