I ordered 120 wings for a Super Bowl party a week in advance. That day, I called to confirm the order and pay over the phone. The folks at Wings Over Providence promised to deliver them by 5:45.
6:45: The wings haven't shown up yet and my guests are hungry. I decide to call Wings Over to check on my delivery status. After 5 minutes on hold, the system kicks me off. I call back. This repeats for 40 minutes.
7:25: Absolutely baffled, my partner and I get an Uber to check on the status of the wings in person. Upon arrival, we see a line of people in a similarly bewildering situation. I wait 20 minutes to pick up the wings that were supposed to be delivered 2 hours ago. The most infuriating part though was watching the telephone ring and seeing the employees immediately putting the undoubtedly flustered customers on hold until the machine hung up on them and realizing that had been me for the better part of the last hour. Also, since I had already paid over the phone, my bill included the delivery fee.
8:00: Returning as triumphant heroes, my partner and I rejoin the party with wings, only to find many of them disappointingly lukewarm. The Buffalo and Teriyaki wings were slimy and the Plain wings were rock hard (the Honey BBQ ones were actually pretty good though). I now have about 45 leftover wings nobody bothered to eat.
I get that things can get busy - especially on Super Bowl Sunday. I used to work in the service industry myself and I know the stress of being behind on orders. But the complete lack of communication and common courtesy shown by the staff and management of Wings Over Providence goes far and beyond anything acceptable. I was profoundly disappointed with every aspect of the transaction and would not recommend going...
Read moreThe food at this location is usually good sometimes it is prepared sloppy if you order anything with sauce (sauce may be all over outside of container) but I do enjoy the wings. However the customer service here is extremely poor. My experiences have been with the females who work at the register and receive the orders. My wife or myself has called on several occasions only to be hung up on over and over or greeted by someone who barely seems like they want to be there or take your order. They are very rude and disrespectful. One night after I was hung up on over and over I drove to the location and parked outside the front. I called again and witnessed the girl answer and hang up. Every time I go inside to order or pick up my food they are very rude, roll their eyes and barely communicate to let me know the status of my order. The last time I was there I placed the order over the phone and arrived 20 minutes later to pick up my food. The female (dark curly hair) was working and I am familiar with her and her awful attitude. I told her my name and she said wait a few minutes. I ended up waiting total 45 minutes. I lost it I confronted her on her attitude and of course what did she do roll her eyes and give me the same nasty attitude. I lost my appetite again because of the customer service. I can’t return to this location for a long time or maybe ever due to this. I really hope management looks into these ongoing issues because I did...
Read moreI went to the bank to an Uber ride and you need your phone to get back home and my battery was dead so I just left the CVS and I went back in because I'd spent over $300 and I thought they'd let me charge my phone after I bought A charger and cable for it seeing I just spent money as A customer but when I asked the manager he said yes but I'd have to wait in the pharmacy area but it is not company policy, He basically charged his mind because I was in the store for hours shopping and they thought I was stealing but when I paid for my stuff and exited the store no alarm and I didn't do anything wrong but they followed me and their pride was on call. I just said I understand and walked up and down Hope street with heavy shopping bags for 3 hours in traffic outside of the restaurants stores and other venues. I finally asked the right place because I asked everyone and place for help and all said no. I was on my last leg when I came upon the Providence Chicken and I ordered the chicken 🐔 and tasted the best I've had in years. Then I seen an outlet an asked if I could charge my phone because I was so tired and I needed to charge my phone to get home and they treated me with dignity and compassion and let me charge my phone and I loved the chicken and service while my phone charged and A refreshing soft drink. Oh what A night, I enjoyed it called my Uber ride and gratefully made it home. Thank you...
