I can’t say enough good things about Los Comales in Melrose Park! Every visit to this restaurant is a fantastic experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are incredibly attentive and make sure you have everything you need for a great meal.

The food is absolutely amazing. I’ve tried several items on the menu, and everything has been delicious. The tacos are my favorite — the meat is always perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the tortillas taste fresh and homemade. I also highly recommend the carne asada and the al pastor — both are flavorful and cooked to perfection. The variety of salsas they offer adds an extra layer of flavor to the meals, and you can tell they put a lot of care into their preparation.

In addition to the great food, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the dishes. I hate that I have to rewrite my review bc the quality wasn’t consistent. This went from a 5 to 3 so quickly since my debut review on this place. It’s really a hit or miss on the freshness of tortillas and the meat. I got stale lemons on a separate occasion and it’s just not right that they just give you old lemons when they had the chance to chop fresh ones. The waitresses were gossiping and distracted most of the time now and even forgot what we ordered because two waitresses came asking the same thing twice. Los cómales food chain has horribly gone down in the past decade. These pictures were from the first day I came eating here and the quality hasn’t kept up since. One important thing is that the veggies in brine juice aren’t fresh anymore either they don’t constantly check on their freshness now they taste expired. The place is very clean and even the walls everything is clean just need to step up the food and service so dissatisfied that I had to come back and lower the rating....

I've only ever ordered pick up or delivery. I'm not sure how the n house service is... with that being said, this last order wasn't great. I spent nearly a hundred dollars and got sub par service. I got absolutely no salsa with any of my dinners ( typically they would come with salsa). The portions for some things were much smaller than I would expect for the price. And I paid several dollars extra for additional toppings for certain things. And I didn't get them. Also, they make you put your own tacos together. They send them bare, it's with cilantro and onion on the side (except guess what? We didn't get any onion.) The flavor of the food was mediocre at best.

I'll take my money somewhere that's going to give me proper respectable service. Especially if I'm paying that much. Pay attention to the reviews stating that they mess up orders... they do. A lot apparently. And if you live in the area, then you know, there are plenty of better places to get Mexican food for the same price or...
