La Tequileria — Restaurant in Proviso Township

I recently visited La Tequileria to support a local artist, and overall, the experience had its highs and lows.The atmosphere was really nice clean, welcoming, and clearly well taken care of. The ambiance made it a great place to enjoy an evening out.

The food and drinks were both good, and everything came out looking and tasting fresh. However, the service definitely left something to be desired. After our food was brought to the table, our server never came back to check if everything was correct or if we needed anything else. We also were never offered additional drinks, which felt like a missed opportunity. Eventually, we had to flag down a different server just to get ours to come back so we could order more.

To top it off, when we got our check, they tried to charge us an additional $40 for a two-person reservation even though we had already purchased our tickets online beforehand. Thankfully, we caught it and got it sorted out, but it was frustrating and felt disorganized.

We came to support the artists that were performing and this place was so disappointing. The live music is awesome and drinks were delicious, however, the service was so terrible. Our server took our order and didn’t come back until after we had to flag someone else for a drink order. The tables next to us had one person who was very attentive to them so it was much more noticeable for the lack of service at our table. We really had no idea who our server. We asked for the bill and upon arrival I noticed it was charging 40$ additional for a reservation for 2 which was already paid for online. When I mentioned this to the guy, he removed it. I felt it was such a money grab. I'm giving it a one star mainly for the "service." I cannot rate the food, since the older lady at the door would not let us in. My friend and I went there as a brief stop for a cocktail at the bar. We did not have a dinner reservation. The older lady with long black hair came to the door and quickly closed it behind her letting us know that we could not come in because we did not have a reservation. WE can clearly see that there were some open spots at the bar and explained to her we were only there for a drink, she was not having it and said we could not come in.
