Hidden Gem Ice Cream Shop in Utah (Non-Influencer Edition)

Brokers Ice Cream is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and happy to help you choose from their amazing selection of ice creams and sorbets. The variety and quality of the flavors are simply unmatched. Each scoop bursts with rich, creamy goodness, and the sorbets are refreshingly delightful. It’s clear that they use only the finest ingredients, and the love and passion they put into their craft shine through in every bite. What makes Brokers Ice Cream even more special is their story. Founded by two childhood friends with a shared dream, they have built a beloved community staple that not only serves fantastic ice cream but also creates a place where everyone feels welcome. Their journey from a small startup to a local favorite is truly inspiring. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-time visitor, Brokers Ice Cream never disappoints. It’s the perfect spot for a sweet treat, a cozy hangout, and a genuine taste of joy. Highly recommend!

Quarantine Diaries! I have been supporting tons of local restaurants during the past 2.5 months and here are my reviews! THEY ARE OPEN & THEY HAVE DRIVE THRU! Honestly, I love any ice cream joint that has a drive through! So quick and easy (especially during this time). I feel like their flavors can be a bit over powering with so many add-ins BUT they do have some yummy SIMPLE staples that I LOVE, i.e. Schuyler Sisters’ Kiss (milk chocolate hazelnut ice cream with hazel NUG bits) and Nathan Hale’s regret... that he has but one flavor to give for his country (Pistachio ice cream with pistachio pieces)! They have an outdoor seating area with synthetic grass which is super cute and there is an INSTAGRAMMABLE mural on the side.

Brooker’s Founding Flavors Ice Cream in Provo, UT, is a delightful gem that feels as much like a historical experience as a dessert destination. From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in an atmosphere that’s carefully crafted to transport you to the late 18th century, with a strong American Revolutionary theme that’s both fun and charming. The shop’s decor and theming are reminiscent of Colonial America, and they take this aesthetic to heart, even dressing their employees in period-appropriate garb and decorating the space with historical memorabilia. It’s a refreshing break from the modern-day world, offering an ice cream experience that’s uniquely nostalgic and patriotic.

The creativity extends beyond the decor and into the flavors. Brooker’s Founding Flavors truly takes pride in its ice cream recipes, often infusing traditional, Americana-inspired flavors with a rich and indulgent twist. Each flavor has a historical or patriotic name, often giving a nod to a historical figure or a notable moment in U.S. history. It’s not only amusing but adds a layer of storytelling to the dessert experience. You don’t just order vanilla or chocolate; instead, you might find yourself with something like the “Patrick Henry’s Give Me Chocolate or Give Me Death,” a flavor bursting with intense chocolate richness. And if you’re a fan of caramel, the “John Hancock’s Salted Caramel Revolution” is simply divine, blending creamy, buttery notes with a hint of salt that makes it addictive. The flavor profiles are complex and satisfying, and the richness of the ice cream itself is evident from the very first bite. It’s smooth, dense, and creamy, showcasing the quality ingredients and craftsmanship behind every scoop.

Price-wise, Brooker’s is more than reasonable. With most treats priced between $1 and $10, you’re getting incredible quality without breaking the bank, which can be a rarity for gourmet ice cream. The portions are generous, so even a single scoop can be incredibly filling. In terms of value, you truly get what you pay for here, if not more, given the level of detail, flavor, and ambiance.

Customer service at Brooker’s is another highlight. The staff members are not only friendly but are genuinely enthusiastic about the history and flavors they’re serving. They’re more than willing to let you sample various flavors (which, believe me, is essential because choosing just one is nearly impossible!). Their knowledge of the products, combined with the historical backstory they share with each scoop, makes the experience interactive and educational in a way that’s rare to find in an ice cream shop.

The shop’s cleanliness and organization are top-notch. Despite being a popular spot, especially during warm days, the staff manages the flow of customers effectively, so you’re never left waiting too long. And, Provo’s location provides easy access and parking, making it convenient to pop in for a quick treat or linger longer to savor the atmosphere.

All in all, Brooker’s Founding Flavors Ice Cream is a must-visit for anyone in or around Provo. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s worth stopping by to experience this blend of history and indulgence. It’s a place where both kids and adults can enjoy learning a little bit about history while treating themselves to some of the best ice cream in the area. This shop isn’t just about dessert – it’s about delivering a unique experience that makes you appreciate each bite a...

Very good. Cute colonial theme with ice cream scoopers wearing costumes and a mix of old-timer colonial-sounding music and Hamilton playing on the speakers. Good seating inside and outside. Has vegan flavors! Two regulars- Vegan Give Me Chocolate or Give Me Death and Vegan Oreo. Give Me Chocolate is usually pretty good with a deep dark-ish chocolate flavor and tasty mix-ins. Sometimes it is noticably icy which really messes up the texture -- I think this is what happens sometimes when they get it straight from the freezer rather than the counter or perhaps it is due to some other temperature problem. I hope they rectify this problem since otherwise it's so delicious! The Oreo flavor has a strong coconut taste (think German chocolate cake frosting or Almond Joy-esque flavor)- I think this is tasty but coconut haters wouldn't like it. This flavor is more likely to be icy, though today it was delicious (because it was sitting behind the counter?). They don't seem to have added or rotated in any new flavors since they opened. I hope they do at some point- I'm a loyal fan and would love to try a new one-- but luckily the Give Me Chocolate is good. They do have a rotating variety of sorbets which frequently include new flavors-- awesome! They are nice about samples and I strongly suggest sampling before buying because many of the sorbets seem to be ices in disguise. They have extremely icy textures with little hint of the amazing creamy smoothness good sorbets boast. This is directly related to the flavor-- for some reason many of the sorbets Brooker's makes have a citrus or juice base. The flavors which involve fruits that can be pureed tend to have respectable textures and often very interesting flavors you would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. The strawberry guava I had today was very good, I believe I may have had a mango or something in the past that was good and the tamarind-something flavor was to die for-- please bring it back!! In short, Brooker's is my hero for consistently carrying more vegan flavors by far than any other ice cream parlor around here. I recommend the vegan Give Me Chocolate, non-citrus sorbets when it's the kind of fruit that's good in smoothies, and the Vegan Oreo is worth a try if you like coconut. Unfortunately the texture sometimes disappoints- when they can fix this issue I'll happily give...
