If you need something printed/created fast, correctly, and with a good quality, this is not the place for you. I need to print a simple paper and get it bound, something that should take no more than 5 minutes. Especially when I was one of 2 people in there. The first time I printed it they made me wait for a long time to pick it up, then it came out with black streaks everywhere. They asked if it was okay since that printer had being doing that all day. I said no. Why did they tell me to print on that printer if there were problems? Who knows. Then they told me to print it again on a different printer. One that needed a complete toner replacement which took an unholy amount of time. After waiting 20 minutes for them to replace it, they said just use another printer. Yet another 20 minutes wasted. Keep in mind this paper was due that day and I did not plan on it taking an hour to print. To spare you time, we'll just sum it up and say there were a total of 5 prints. Then I had to wait another 20 minutes to get it bound. Why? Who knows. I finally got my paper after almost an hour. But wait! There's more! We got the grade back on the paper and it was really bad. Why? Turns out they had somehow printed only every other page double sided. Should I have checked every page? Probably. But how do you even print every other page? Long story short, this place is not well run. The whole time I was waiting there were 3 employees just sitting around on their phones or chatting...
Read moreQuick in and out services with computers you can download and edit files on, although I suggest using somewhere else on campus for editing as others will need the computers, too. They can do spiral binding, color or black and white prints, plotting for posters, plastic covers, and lamination. It is possible to cut your pages here, too, with a paper cutter. All-in-all, a lot of resources at a convenient location. Student run and student used, so keep in mind everyone will be using it upon project deadlines, so plan accordingly.
My only complaint would be that they cannot print full bleed so you will have to crop edges manually. The staff could be friendlier but frankly with being students and under as much stress as everyone else I think they do pretty good.
Previous comments have mentioned the prices to be a bit much, and they are compared to campus printing, which is exclusively available for student use. For a comparison to local businesses you may be hard pressed to find a deal that beats what they offer here.
They only take cash or BYU Cougar Cash, so be prepared with...
Read moreThis place is ideal for fast, bulk printing! The prices are great, too, for that purpose. The variety of options is nice and staff is usually friendly. Rating three stars for the following reasons:
-I use this place a lot for printing, and about two thirds of the time the order will be done wrong, even with very specific instructions in the email not to re-size the image, etc. More than once I’ve come in for an order and the image is cropped off, something that should easily be recognized as an error. -The employees’ printing knowledge varies widely. It makes sense since students work here and probably rotate out often, but that can be a little frustrating. -The color and contrast are inconsistent; what you have on the screen may not be what you get on paper. I wouldn’t recommend this place for making art prints—the color quality at the West Campus BYU Print Lab is much better for that!
Good vibes overall. Also a note that the quality seems to have...
