Steak Express — Restaurant in Provo

Have visited #SteakExpress several times here are a few comments from each visit and some of what I’ve tried. Enjoyed a #PhillyCheeseSteak sandwich, #onionrings, and #butterscotch #shake from Steak Express. Located in the old Stan’s location. Wonderful mushrooms and veggies in the sandwich, besides the meat and cream cheese. Onion rings are battered and fried crisp. Nice cool shake to counterpoint the savory sandwich. Definitely a go to place, I never went to the place on the west side but I’ll be going to Steak Express again! I’ve written about Steak Express steak sandwiches before and their yummy #onionrings. However this time I ordered their #LocomotiveBurger. Which I enjoyed more than expected. It is like it was made for me. Mushrooms and onions piled on the burger with a nice sliced pickle. It had BBQ sauce on it, which is what I often put on my Burgers when I make my own. I decided to avoid the starchy carbs of yummy fries or onion rings, and went with a side salad. The side salad was larger than expected, made with a pile of mixed greens and lettuce. Sliced cucumber and tomato, and carrots. Steak Express always exceeds my expectations and they have never disappointed me. I’ve also enjoyed many flavors of shakes, often their shake of the month. First things first: I drove by this place 3 times before I could see it/find it. The signs aren't very big, and you aren't familiar with the area, you may struggle to find it. (I haven't been in this area for a few years, so I struggled)

Upon walking in, I didn't know what to expect... I saw a little post on the board, for a bacon ranch cheeseburger combo, and I ordered it. I waited for a few minutes, before they gave me my bag, and I left.

I was eating, as I was driving on my way to the theater, at least, I was eating while I was waiting at the stop lights Haha... But there was one problem: the burger I got, was not a bacon ranch cheeseburger. It seemed I just got a single Patty cheeseburger... I was already on the way to the theater, and I was already running late, so I didn't take the time to turn around. (With how terrible the movie was, I should have turned around.)

Why am I rating this place four stars, when they got my burger wrong? ... Because whatever I had, was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Haha! It came with stake cut fries, and those were remarkable. I don't know what I received, but whatever it was, it was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. I am surely going to visit back and order again... And even if they get my order wrong, I don't care, because the burger was that...

Great service and food! The speciality soda is a great add on and only $0.50 extra. They know how to do shakes right. The oreo shakes have the well ground oreo bits, and also larger chunks. This is how pros make oreo shakes. The fries are another solid entry. My son had a grilled cheese, I had the stake sandwich, and my wife had a burger. They were all really tasty. It doesn't seem like you can make a wrong choice here. The girl at the counter who came and took our order was really nice and helpful. My special soda had a lime and my son said he wanted one in his lemonade and she brought one out for him. It's small, but a very nice touch. She also gave him a cool chocolate advent calendar. The food came out pretty quickly too. Really a great experience all around. I'm only bummed I didn't try this place sooner. We will be back...
